Well I made it to the heat, Bear, although no one mentioned the strong winds. Just trying out the sun beds, so an ice cold glass of lemonade please, Bear😎

Hi, David wave

Last day of sweltering heat for a while.

Our trip has had some oddities: delayed flight, then it took us a full hour longer than typical to fly from Tampa to Detroit due to weather, our Airbnb has had no power so we had to find a hotel, and today my hubby and DIL had to arrange for and hookup a generator for the school she works at so the food in the freezers and fridges wouldn’t be lost. Fortunately son’s house had power and our grandson, LW, had birthday pool party as planned while we took the Littles over to some friends house to keep them out of the way.

Tomorrow is CJ’s birthday and we will all head to the cider mill and petting farm. The humidity broke this afternoon and it was quite pleasant. Hopefully tomorrow will be just as nice.

Fingers crossed we can actually head to the Airbnb tomorrow. Fortunately the host will reimburse us for any nights we have to stay in the hotel.

Hope all y’all are having a good weekend. 😎

Kat, So glad that you guys are making the best of the situation. Is your DIL going to start calling Kevin , “Sparky” after setting up the backup generators? hahaha

Well I’ll have a cup of Bertha’s best coffee as we enjoy the sounds of thunder and rain here this morning.

Kimmi's challenges are always a blast. Looking forward to it.

For today, though, I am putting a longstanding story idea to bed. Maybe. It's into editing, at least, though my idiot brain keeps wanting to add stuff. It's already past 5K so I'd rather not go too much longer.

Oh boy! A Kimmi Kontest!

Lemme see … ray guns, spurting into … space …

Aliens probing anal cavities…

Robots fucking forever…

Captain James T. Quirk, thrusting into inter-Stella's space in the Starship Intercourse

Hmmm… the possibilites, Oh the possibilities!

And possibly some caffeine along with them!

Take care out there, 'K?

My first attempt was too ambitious. Might spin it into a regular Lush story sometime. Looking for another option. Or figuring out how I can squeeze something of the essence into a "hint".

And it's the year's biggest Moan-Day, even thought it's a Tuesday!

It's … BACK TO SCHOOL DAY!

Let the boo-hooing begin!

At least it is here in the Great White North, where counter-tariffs are the present Canuckistan is sending to the Un-nited states and it's Orange Slime Monster.

Let's have somethis appropriate, shall we?

Lumberjack coffee blend

S'Mores breakfast donuts.

And mocha cuppycakes.

Plus plenty of Coke Zero for a northern visiting Kat!

Take care, y'all!

And let there be no wailing at the Bear!

Morning Bear, I’ll try a cup of your Lumberjack Coffee to start off my morning. We will be headed your way in 11 days. Our cruise will visit your Eastern ports of call in Saint John, Halifax and Sydney. There is a lot of history to enjoy at those locations. Thanks for the coffee!

If your timing is right, you may well be treated to a marvellous view of the fall colours! It's early, but possible.

Halifax and St. John are great ports to visit, but try to get away from the harbours. In Halifax, you might consider the Citadel or the Public Garden. In St. John, consider the Market.

Sydney is much smaller, and utterly charming! We have rarely felt as welcome as we did when we landed there on a Disney cruise!

Enjoy!

Meanwhile, I've entered Kimmi's Kontest…find it here:

Trouble with Quimbles

SciFi Writing Challenge for 500 Lush Coins!

I stole this idea from Harlan Ellison, who stole it from Robert Heinlein. I doubt Heinlein would have considered writing this kind of trash, but I'm POSITIVE Ellison would have! ---------------------------------- Trouble with Quimbles . Striding manfully to the Command Chair, I caught a familiar scent – QUIM! Swarms of intra-Stella Quimbles suddenly invaded through every crack and fanny of the bridge – and were irresistibly attracted to ME, ignoring all the lesser beings, making a C-line for The Captain. I found myself trapped in the Chair, buried alive in Quim! Facing the Final Frontier, I stuck out my tongue, and thought: What a way to boldly go!

My sister and her hubby went in a similar cruise and loved it, Dave! I think they went in October and loved fall colors. Enjoy!
