Hiya, Rumpies
I’m feeling at peace today. Finally.
Scribbled something last night. The weather’s cooler. It’s feeling more like spooky October. 👻
Glad to hear this, Kimmie. ![]()
Happy midweek, guys! :)

So glad to hear that, Kimmi – and welcome back.
We kept your stool warm – and the pets in Store Room #4 have been asking for you!
WHAT were you doing with them all???
I am starting to think Storeroom 4 is our version of the TARDIS: Bigger inside than outside.
And welcome back, Kimmi. Glad you're feeling better.
And hello all. I am around, just not as active. Work is over so red wine is in order.

Mathmatically speaking, there's no reason why something can't be bigger inside than outside.
It's just the weird reality thing.
And it makes perfect sense that Store Room #4 is that way, if you think about it.
I mean there are things in there that are bigger than they naturally are all the time, right?
So reality has to make space for … um, other possibilities.
And if any of that makes sense to you, then I should probably cut you off and send you home to get some sleep.
Dolly Parton, God bless her (and I have no doubt She has) … 9 to 5 …
Coffee today is Lumberjack, so we can lumber into the weekend, all jacked 'n stuff.
Teas are Darjeeling and Yorkshire, plus all the other make it yourselfs.
And a couple of low hanging fruit, ready to be plucked!
Stormy weather down Kat's way. Hope she isn't getting washed away!

Morning, Rumpies
I’m finishing up a weird, ghostly story today. 👻
I am also on the hunt for Mom’s ashes. Dad had the big urn. My sis and I had some in tiny birds. And well… I can’t remember where I put mine. I was waiting to bury with Dad’s ashes.

So, I recently finished watching The Hail Mary Project with Ryan Gosling. It was … uneven.
Like so many movies – and books, and stories – it could have used a good editor. At 2 hours and 36 minutes, it could easily have lost 30-45 minutes and become a better movie. What's more, you had to go through the entire movie to get the setup premise. Denis Villeneuve's Arrival did that with Amy Adams, and it worked amazingly well. Here – not so much.
Unfortunately, Hail Mary has fallen prey to the common notion that more is better, which it clearly ain't.
That said, I'm glad I finally worked all the way through the movie (over several nights – Lady Jay is not a fan of SF). The ending was good and Ryan Gosling was brilliant.
Since it's Fried-Day, we'll kick off the weekend with Happy Camper coffee blend.
There are the usual donuts around someplace, and we've got some nice coffee cake for y'all.
Take care out there, especially if you're in Florida. Almost the entire state has been pounded by the storms thrown off by hurricane Isaias.

This week feels like the first real week of autumn, with wind and some much-needed rain.
I look out for The Hail Mary Project, as it has been a while since I actually watched a good film.
A mug of Yorkshire tea, please, Bear. Thank you. Now off to do a little writing in the corner. 😊

He is cute, too. 😋 Too bad he is straight and married to Eva Mendes. Ryan was born here in London but his family moved around a lot so he didn't grow up here. He is an army brat, I think.
Good morning. Hope all are well. Continue to have fairly pleasant Fall weather here.
From Swedish band Orbit Culture, a gorgeous power ballad. This band usually does driving, extremely heavy death metal so this beauty is a bit of a surprise. Cellist is Tina Guo, a Chinese-born American who does a lot of work with metal bands as well as being a favourite of film composer Hans Zimmer.

Ryan who?? 😊
OK, but you've got to promise to get him back in time for the awards season or else there's gonna be trouble, see?

No, I haven't seen Verity and not sure I have any inclination to do so.
It's Market Day, so I will be brief…
Coffee is A Dark Affair from Balzac's.
Teas are Yorkshire and Gunpowder Green in pots on the sideboar.
Buttercream cuppycakes in hopes of tempting Kat back to the bar.
And chocolate biscotti to round out your figures.
Take care out there, 'K?
And I'll leave you with some music … Shaboozey (gotta love that name) … A Bar Song (Tipsy) …

I probably won’t. I didn’t love the book. Maybe it’s just too dark for me rn idk. Have you seen it?
Hi, Katherine!
I haven’t read the book, but feel a kinda curiosity about the movie. I don’t like watching disturbing things, though. I guess I can always walk out if it gets too rough.

Probably depends on how they handle it. I learned drama needs moments with a little lightness or levity or connection to others, to let the reader breathe. The book had none of that and seemed like it was just dark to be dark. This is not her typical kind of book so she was probably just trying something new but to me it didn’t work.
The plot line had potential tho, so maybe a screenwriter can turn it into what it should’ve been? I like the actors in this one so I hope so. I might watch it if people say it’s good 👀

Sometimes adding some light makes the darkness even darker as well as giving a break. Some writers learn that lesson, others need to be taught it. It works the other way, too. A bit of darkness can make the light shine brighter. Look at how the heroism of Lord of the Rings stands out in contrast to the horrors wrought by Sauron and his armies/followers.
Good morning and happy weekend! It's a long one in Canada as we celebrate our version of Thanksgiving on Monday. No big plans here for the long weekend.
I ranted about my ongoing unintended novel over on SS so I'll refrain from doing it again here. Suffice it to say that I am mired in a project that just won't leave me alone even though I would rather it did. Even had to timeline the backstories to make sure things like character ages add up.
OTOH, it's been a good tryout for abandoning traditional writing tools and doing all my writing in Obsidian, which is ostensibly note-taking software but stores the notes using text files in a folder structure called a "vault" and a simple markup language called Markdown (I'll bet Kimmi knows what that is) so lends itself well to drafts and other writing work, not just keeping notes about the characters, settings, etc.
PS. The editor on here uses Markdown so you can use Markdown codes to add headings and other formatting if you know them. E.g. "# " before a word makes it a Heading 1.

I loved the Odyssey. As much as i love spiderman, we didn't make it to the theater in time so it's gonna be the streaming thing.

Love Anne. Dakota kind of bores me.

I loved the Odyssey.
Sadly, the guy with a degree in Classics who studied the epic in one of his courses and who is project manager for a project codenamed "Odyssey" ... hasn't seen it yet. Just don't go to movies much anymore and it's not one that would appeal to my wife so I don't really have anyone to go with.

I did really like it.
Maybe watch it when it hits Netflix/Prime.

That is kind of my plan. I do love sword and sandals movies. And there are some can't be mentioned on Lush personal reasons that might entice her to see it.
