And Happy Thanksgiving!
As I've said elsewhere, Canadian Thanksgiving actually happened before American Thanksgiving, and not just by a month and a bit, but by some 42 years.
Sir Martin Frobisher first celebrated a European thanksgiving with communion and a feast on Baffin Island in what is now Nunavut in 1578 – 42 years before the Pilrgrims landed in Plymouth.
He also declared the second Monday of October as Thanksgiving Day in Canada because he knew it would be too cold to play Canadian-rules football in late November.
Then celebrated with a double-double from Timmies.
So we're going to offer double-doubles all 'round with distinctly mediocre (and no longer fully Canadian) coffee, along with some gobble-gobble goodies, and some pumpkin pie … with RUM whipped cream!
We Canajuns will enjoy this while you 'Mercans go off to work!
Enjoy!
