Why are the buns covered, Bear? π
Loved those bartender jokes and plan to share them with others. I had lunch with a friend yesterday (who happens to be a married gay man) and we were celebrating the blue wave, but also contemplating what needs to happen for REAL change to occur. So, letβs send these new senators and governors on their way after sharing drinks with them and hope that the universe guides them in meaningful ways.

Iβm at Disney again for the next couple of days (of course I am) but I will pop in occasionally. TGIF!
Why are the buns covered Kat?
What a question!
So that you have the pleasure of UN-covering them, 'course!

Just discovered this band. Their third album comes out in January but on the strength of this single from it. I gave their second a listen. Two fingers up.π€
And now I find out that the vocalist used to live here in London, Ontario. She studied voice at the local university's music faculty. Cool. I have known a few grads of that program back when I was running worship at a local church that hired students from the program to play for services.
On a difficult journey home, Kate finds love and sex in a fellow traveler.
And I first introduced Kate as a university student whose first time kind of sets the stage for her new story.
I rarely recommend other authors' stories, however, as she is currently enjoying Disneyland! So, she is unlikely to read this! ππ Do give Kat's latest story a read. Here is the link: A Rush of Gold
It is a Recommended Read, and deservedly so. Take note of the words she uses to create old-fashioned realism. π
I will also go as far as saying it is one of her best stories she has ever written. My opinion. ππ

Thank you so much, David. I truly enjoyed writing this story and worked hard to make it feel authentic. So it pleases me greatly to have it being so well-received. I canβt thank you enough for your support. ππ₯°
Kiss Me In The Rain - a microfiction about love and desire
A Rush Of Gold surviving the trek west during the Gold Rush required some clever thinking along the way, especially for newlyweds Andrew and Susanna.
Well, that's a disappointment.

Our 10-year-old granddaughter was due to be here for the weekend, then we got an email on Friday morning that she had come down with some kind of infection, and been taken to ER at 3 am.
So β no granddaughter this weekend, which leaves all of our plans for the weekend in ruins.
Oh well.
Maxwell House coffee.
Yorkshire and Constant Comment teas.
Leftover donuts.
And disappointment and concern.

Well, that's bummer. Hope she gets better quickly. Healing vibes sent.
Just finished the weekly cleaning. Often I leave that until Sunday but it's Mrs. Ape's b-day tomorrow so we'll probably be off celebrating. Weather has cooled off and been kind of unsettled but tomorrow is supposed to be better (crossed fingers).
I am contemplating revisiting an old story. It's one that got lost when I dumped my old profile but that I was quite fond of. There's nothing left, not even drafts, so I'd be starting from scratch. My worry is that I won't be able to recapture the magic but we'll see. At least it's something to get me writing.

Bummer about no visit with your granddaughter, Bear. Hopefully she will be better quickly.
