Actually, it wasn't excellent but, it did have some funny spots.
I don't go to the movies anymore. The last few times I went it was more of a struggle than it is worth to me. People talking to each other, on cells, about the movie and what happens. Getting my chair kicked. Just too much. I wait and rent them.
I agree. Much better to watch at home, and if I miss something with the music drowning out some dialogue, I can go back and catch it.
I was dragged last fall to see the last Matt Damon Robert Ludlum thriller, Bourne something, and a girl, who was on a date, I guess, with another guy, spent the whole movie talking to one of her friends! Maybe she did not like the guy, but jeez!!!
Last movie I saw, the only one this year in a cinema, was Batman Begins. Pretty good, but too many implausibiities (in a big way) and I don't think sticking your tongue out and holding your head sideways qualifies one for an Oscar. It was the first of the Batman movies I have ever seen, so forgive me if I squatted on holy ground. Did not grow up reading comics, so not really my thing. And of course the hype over poor conflicted drug happy Heath....sorry, I don't like hype, and spoiled actors don't get my sympathy or automatic martyr status.
I really am a happy person, folks. I just come across....um....critical. Sorry.
Bruges is a delightful city. Very romantic. I know nothing about the movie. Sorry, I am not much help.
I never read the comics either. I take movies on a one on one thing. Not because everyone else says it's THE thing to see. And I totally agree on the "poor little rich me" thing as well.
Fuck him, if he's too stupid to not to know to mix 5 different drugs then maybe it's natures way of thinning the gene pool.
Lush, I thought "In Bruges" was awful.
The last movie I actually went out to see was Ghost Rider...cause I didn't think my tv would do it any justice. And I really enjoyed the movie cause I took myself out on a wednesday night to see it. The place was practically empty and I didn't have anyone sitting next to me to distract me. LOL So, I am not sure if it was the movie I liked so much or the fact that I actually had that much time to myself.....
Good point LB. You have kids and a "mate" to distract you all the time?
I do have kids...they don't leave me much time/concentration to watch tv. I have a live-in...their father, but he is not much of a distraction...he is more like a giant paper weight just holding the couch down and keeping the remote hostage.
LMFAO! He's the big lump that farts on the end of the couch huh? So you have my ex huh?
BTW!! DH and I watched a movie we rented last night. Called "Feast II Sloppy Seconds".
First of all let me say that if you smoke anything besides ciggys or take a drink now and then, please do if you watch this movie.
We watched with a big glass of dry Pinot Grigio and still laughed til we almost peed. Evidently we missed the first one, but if the guy making this movie isn't high in some form or another then he's just stone cold crazy. First of all, there's a midget, dwarf, little person, whatever, with a 2FOOT DICK!!! I kid you not! He goes running naked and it's just a flappin from side to side! I told hubs there's no way! That thing ever get hard the little guy'd die from lack of blood flow to the brain!!
That's just the beginning... If you need a good laugh and don't mind some cheap gore you have to watch this one!!
Excuse me...could someone please tell me where the return line is?
Sorry kid. We old married people are sworn not to tell the new ones getting married that there really isn't any knight in shining armor. So once your in your stuck.
Stuck? No Way...I will have you know that no bird can really be stuck and all men can be replaced with something with a little more, um...personality...you know what I mean?
I don't need a knight in shining armour...I just need new batteries and a good drink....and maybe an apartment...
It's like that chick said, in one of those latest National Lampoon movies: "All I need are the three C's: Cash, cock, and companionship."
Birdie,
I have this trailer, oh, about 12' x 12' that you can move into. Not only do I not have a tv, but if I did, the remote would be all yours, as I have never learned how to use one very well.
Yeah, I know, like my brother told me when he heard that I don't:
watch sports on TV (except for Olympics);
own a grill or have my own BBQ sauce;
know what engine size are in any of my cars;
know much about models of power tools;
own a motorcycle;
take nights out with the guys;
haven't been hunting, ice fishing, or to a strip club;
don't burp, ect...
my brother told me to turn in my man card.
Guess I am short on personality too, since I don't have all of the above to talk endlessly about?
Where do you get one in the first place? The man card. Not the personality.
Oh, about the trailer, Birdie. There is no kitchen for you to have to slave in and only one window to clean or in which to hang curtains. Just a small fridge and a coffee pot in the corner. The latrine is about 60 yards away, but the showers are closer, by about 15 yards. Lots of eye candy for the ladies, as long as you like military hair cuts..... Just look for a flight to Baghdad.
Oh, yes....And keeping with the main topic here, I wanted to add that I really enjoyed the Bucket List...Even though I had to watch it from my recliner at 3am just to be able to hear it. But I had that whole bag of popcorn to myself!
Birdie...
Ha ha, no, I am a far ways off from being gay. I played football competitively for 9 years, and soccer in college. I love playing - tennis and coed late-night volleyball were my vents these past years - watching sports is just another thing, and with all the hype, prima donnas, constant advertising, turf and whirlwind changes in personnel on the field, I just don't care for the pro game anymore. That, and I still have a hard time telling myself it's over and no, I couldn't really do it better than the young guys, so it is frustrating.
I have changed plenty of brakes, oil, and a couple water pumps, thermostats, radiators, and alternators, but I never enjoyed it. It was always a nasty chore. The time I punctured the brake line and ruined a brand new expensive set of brake linings told me I did not enjoy it enough, so others benefit with my cars coming to their garages these days. A car to me is just transportation and headaches waiting to happen, hence I have no real passion for make, model, mufflers, or fancy no-value added accoutrements. I am too practical sometimes....yeah, boring even.
Anyway, I won't bore you with reasons for all the rest of it. Let's just blame my practicality, and my being too busy with home maintenance and the never-ending honey-do list, family rearing, taxi driving, YMCA coaching, boy scout supporting and avid reading life.
About the trailer. Well, it is in Iraq, so you would either need a job that nets you an I.D. card from the military, or yes, you would get all your meals in bed, served semi-warm from a foam carry all container and with complimentary plastic fork, knife and spoon. The showers are not shared - discovery, at least of a man in the women's, would probably result in a quick ticket home. (The other way around would just be a cause for smiles around camp that day!) Did I mention the other roommate who gets half of that 12' x 12'? Ok, so I didn't exactly follow the spirit of the law regarding truth in advertising. Good thing you have not signed anything yet.
Oh, the burping thing. No, I really don't. I have never even learned how to intentionally do it. Maybe once a year I am surprised by one coming from nowhere. I have weird plumbing. Or I just convert and send the, uh, gaseous, ah, you know....downstream faster.
LOL Chase...See, you still have your man card...
Deal! What's on the menu? LOL
I bet that there will be heaping mounds of appetizing and succulent items.....surely sausage and syrup....variety of juices....and probably 2nds for the taking.
Wish I were likely to see a menu slipped under my door...
Nah, I'll just take your...."shake".... instead of the fries, Birdie.
