Somebody needs to lose their job.
This airport search topic btw is a hot spot for me. I was in Dublin Ireland when 911 occurred. Even though I'm Canadian my flight back was to JFK. We got stuck in Dublin for three days. At JFK the security guards did a divide and conquer then "confiscated" most of my gifts. Did you know that a gold ring with a black opal was a security risk?
Turns out airport security is subcontracted at most North American airports. They hire guards with a grade two education because they can pay them six dollars an hour. The execs are making a killing but only because there are no industry standards and no training requirements. It's the McDonald's of security.
No wonder the poor women got stiffed. I read she even volunteered to let them search her physically. She asked for a female agent first but apparently the female agent declined. She said would have even let a man search her instead of removing them but they never offered, just demanded she remove them.

Don't even get me started on how rude airport security can be. It's amazing how often I get selected for "random" extra checking and/or pat downs. Wonder who I pissed off in my past or if the male security officers just like to see a female security officer pat down my large chest. Headed to the airport in about 5 hours....sigh....maybe this will be one of the few times I don't get hassled, but I am not counting on it.

If memory serves they created a bylaw that allowed women to go shirtless on hot days. Numerous other cities have also. Provincial parks allow topless women. It's a bylaw thats little known and little used but female toplessness is not challenged or prosecuted anymore.

* Committee staff discovered that 85% of the approximately 5,700 major transportation security equipment currently warehoused at the TLC had been stored for longer than six months; 35% of the equipment had been stored for more than one year. One piece of equipment had been in storage more than six years – 60% of its useful life.
* As of February 2012, Committee staff discovered that TSA had 472 Advanced Technology 2 (AT2) carry-on baggage screening machines at the TLC and that more than 99% have remained in storage for more than nine months; 34% of AT2s have been stored for longer than one year.
* TSA knowingly purchased more Explosive Trace Detectors (ETDs) than were necessary in order to receive a bulk discount under an incorrect and baseless assumption that demand would increase. TSA management stated: “[w]e purchased more than we needed in order to get a discount...

Seriously TSA is a joke. I haven't flown in years and have no intention. ONe of those numbnuts would grope me or my kid and I'd mouth off and end up detained for 48 hours. Then put on the no-fly list and the FBI"s most wanted. This is the problem with asking government to do everything in our lives for us, do all our thinking. Common sense has been so lost that we think nipple rings are going to cause an airplane to drop out of the sky. Funny that the belly ring was allowed to stay.
