A related thread in the think tank was recently locked because some members decided to turn it into a personal feud without any regards for the subject of the thread. It left me wondering though. Clearly there still are members here who identify as LGBTQ who still support Trump, in spite of his anti-LGBTQ measures, his unambiguous endorsement of the Family Research Council, a recognised anti LGBTQ hate group, during their recent Values Voter Summit, and his open support for people like Roy Moore who thinks gay behaviour should be a crime.
Is that because they still believe Trump is a friend? If so, why, if not, what weighs more than your LGBTQ rights?

Hey... pssst.... that's an l (as in luscious) at the end of my name, not an i I imagine they naively believed Trump wasn't lying out his ass when he made those empty campaign promises to protect LGBTQ rights, and failed to consider who he chose as a running mate, with his long track record of hate-filled legislation in Indiana. Why they continue to support him is completely beyond me.
I suspect they had other, more important priorities, and they haven't figured out he was lying about those issues too.
Not a Trump supporter but even if you were maybe its because there are lots of other important issues too. When have you ever supported EVERYTHING a politician stood for? You have to pick whats the most important.
I believe that if you want to truly know what a politician's beliefs are, you need to look at what they have done before they got into politics.
If a person has spent the majority of their life involved in civil rights, health care or economic reform, then you can assume that that person will carry those ideas of importance through their tenure in public office.
If a person has spent 4 decades doing nothing other than trying to make money, then you can kind of assume that his priorities are of the self interest type.
Trump doesn't give a shit about race, guns or LGBTQ rights. He picks and chooses accordingly to appeal to his uneducated base of voters.
If you are a gay person and you support Trump (Which means you support the Republican party), then you should probably have a CT because your mind probably isn't working properly. Hello? History? Can I be on the wrong side of you?
Of course this all comes down to the fact that a large percentage of voters in the US are so ignorant of how their own political system works, the entire thing becomes a reality show with the equivalent of "viewer voting."
Who on Lush is still supporting Trump and claiming to be homosexual?
I'm not counting the ones that post "Lesbian" as their status in order to dissuade creepy, middle aged men from trying to cyber with them....
