I called my employees back a long time ago. Working from home didn't work.

Only two days a week, though, same as my son. My employer's standard is 5 days out of every 10 in office, but I do 3 a week so beat the standard. So maybe fulltime remote is over, but it is looking like hybrid will be the new normal which still affects things like office space. I see smaller office spaces with lots of "hot desking" in the future.

I agree about the disease of "laziness" creeping into the psyche because of the pandemic - the service industry is a shit show with the idea of a "customer" being a very distant second thought to "The company & profit".
I think that mindset & the big lesson that a lot of companies learned "what we can get away with - what low quality of service our customers will tolerate" has decimated a lot of areas that should be customer focused & are now company focused, instead.
I see it everywhere - cutting back on everything for the profits of the company. The excuse being that so much was lost during the pandemic that "we now have to rob you".

I purposely no longer tip. Controversial, but it's not the customers job to pay your wage.
Delivery? No, I can pick up my food. Never been one to use those food apps.
Customer service had become a shit show before the pandemic. Afterward, it IS even worse. He seeds for Inflated pricing had already been sewn with the Chiba tariffs, but entire industries shutting down for the pandemic guaranteed massive inflation.
The economy is coming back. And in some areas it has come back with a vengeance. Where l live it is booming! But with fewer workers. And the current employeed are going to burn out from overwork. So prepare for a possible bust.

Commercial real estate's going to be dealing with low occupancy rates for a good long while.
We are already seeing some talk here about converting commercial towers,.or at least parts of them, to residential.
