No, I wasn't the reason for the fight -- my girlfriend (now my wife) was of interest to quite a disreputable and vulgar young man. He and two of his friends were ogling my girlfriend as she and I said goodbye in between classes. This jerk reached out and slowly stroked a bit of her hair. The next thing he knew, the back of my hand struck him solidly in the face and he shook his head to regain his senses as he sat on his a** on the ground. His friends stepped back. The jerk picked himself up and left. So I wasn't the cause, he was. Hopefully, he learned to treat other people with respect along the way in his life. I am not necessarily proud of striking out, but felt it was a justifiable "self-defense" move of my girlfriend, now wife.
