I had an opportunity that I missed, I guess. A friend stayed over with me once and I did have a fleeting fantasy. Only later, after his death, did I realize that he was actually bi (I met his boyfriend at the funeral). Of course, I had not really admitted my own bi leanings yet at that point so wasn't gonna happen. Nowdays, with the right friend, might be more likely.

I believe from your question you mean MY best friend of another gender so that's how I'll answer. If I have a crush on someone in my public life, I'm not saying a word. If I have a crush on someone in this private aspect of my life, they'll absolutely know it. I don't have a middle ground.
