I've been working on a book project that is now nearing completion and am ready to begin contacting literary agents or publishers. So, my question is:

Are there any of you who have done this successfully and would you share your experience with me?

Have you considered self-publishing? You can make money from the book and get your name / work out there, while waiting on that publishing deal, which may or may not ever happen.
