I am quite new to lushstories, just published my first story last week.

Over a period of years I have written a couple of stories that, I think, are suitable for publishing here. Most of these I wrote because I like to work my fantasies. I thought to publish at least some of them here, although I need to improve the flow and check the grammar before publishing them.

My questions now are:

1. How important is the cover image?

I find that I use a ridiculous amount of time thinking about a striking image that catches the essence of the story. Then I'll be making and remaking a prompt in an AI image generator to get a illustration that never fits my ideas.

2. How do you do this? I could use some clues.

Hi and welcome.

Some say a striking cover pic helps steer them to click on a story. Others say it has no influence and it's the title and teaser that helps more.

My view: doing all three can't hurt, so a well chosen/created image has appeal (our guidelines are they have to be PG-13, btw, so no gratuitius imagery, penetration or genitalia please).

As for the creation, current sizing is 768x1200 pixels. You can use your own graphics program or an online service like Canva for that. Or we have a built in cover designer. Once you click to the Create Your Story page, tap the image and you get a choice to upload one, choose a pic from an album you have already uploaded, or create one in the designer.

Hope that helps.

Over one million views on my stories can't be wrong, so please dive in and browse my 164 stories:

* A whole heap of often filthy, tense, hot sex.

In addition to what WW said, stories with cover images may be featured under Trending Stories. I don't know the full parameters how a story gets to that hot list but as an observation, stories that do not have one, even with higher likes, don't get featured as trending.

Yeah, good point, Mit. Forgot that. Thanks for the addition.
