Formatting Poetry - from a "poetry virgin"

I have written poetry on and off for, literally, decades. However, I have refrained from posting any on Lush until now. And, to boot, I generally don't verify it either, so I have really not dealt with it much from that end either.

Alas, I am wrestling with the editor around formatting. Any of the regular poets care to help?

I want something like:

You and I
soon shall fly
Up to the brilliant moon.

After that
We'll go to our flat,
And screw until it's June

But the editor keeps formatting it:

You and I

soon shall fly

Up to the brilliant moon.

After that

We'll go to our flat,

And screw until it's June

I did some checking and I see poems done right. How the *bleep* do you do it?

(No, that's not the one I'm posting. Just a bit I knocked off to give an example).
It does the same thing for everyone.

I read that posting it as a note to yourself will keep it in the correct format.

Not sure though, however.

Edit (delete space) from the beginning of the next line, not the end of the line.

I have found that posting it in a pm to myself and copying, then pasting into the submission box will uaully hold the correct formatting.
The PM to self method did it. Thanks, Buz. Have one on me.
