If the story is 536 words, then so be it. To misquote Mozart, "A story should have exactly the right number of words in it." Do not add padding just to make it longer to some arbitrary length, that will only make it less good.
If there is an arbitrary lower limit on here, then post it somewhere else where they don't have unjustifiable rules excluding the very difficult art of flash fiction. I know a brilliant sci-fi story which is only 15 (yes - fifteen) words long.

Yes, I fully agree, but setting a lower limit rules out some truly brilliant flash fiction. I have never allowed any story of mine shorter than the two and a half thousand words of "http://www.lushstories.com/stories/interracial/carols-craving.aspx" to appear in any public form. I just wish I wrote with sufficient skill to write flash fiction, even occasionally.
And to my critics above,
1. any decision on an actual number is arbitrary; it is 3000 characters here and what makes it arbitrary is that it is not 2999 or 3001;
2. the owners of Lush have every right to make any rules they want, however arbitrary, as it is their site;
