Hello.

I am looking for some help in the form of proof reading my first ever attempt of a story.
It has been rejected for having too many run-ons and i would like some help to break the run-on so that i can be published.

If you would like to help me please send me a message.
Many thanks in advance.

My first story was rejected the first time too, you just gotta proof read it and fix it, then hopefully the second time it gets published! smile

If you're writing it using Microsoft Word, I strongly suggest you use spell check as it will not only check for spelling errors, but run-ons and other errors as well.

Read your story outloud, so that you can hear the long sentences. Vary their length keeping the grammar correct. Listen and make sure that you can hold on to the thread of every single sentence. If it's confusing, then work on it. Don't rush it, it's worth your time.

Best of luck!
Rule of thumb - one idea per sentence. That one idea may be made up of a string of two, three or maybe four associated actions, but the key word there is associated. In general shorter sentences are easier to read so don't think you need to make your sentences longer for them to be better. (There's a cock joke in there somewhere).

Send me an excerpt, if you like, and I'll take a look.
i understand your pain. i've had three stories rejected. One, i understand ... too violent. The other two ... debatable. i have, of late, restructured my writing style, but i honestly hate it. i want to write about what i am into. i am in no way vanilla (for the layperson that is normal or average sex life, non-BDSM). i came to Lush to share my creativity and have hit a wall, it seems. Are there any moderators who are familiar with BDSM etiquette? i would hope i am not alone, but if i am, i will stand by myself. Every voice should be heard.

You are fortunate for there are several story verifying moderators who are versed extremely well to moderately well in your chosen lifestyle.

I am much more vanilla and I take subtle umbrage at your classifying my sex life as average or normal. I pride myself on the abysmal abnormalities which flavor my nut bean ice cream like the syrupy, nut laden...

What was I talking about?

Oh yeah...there are those here who can service you appropriately. Fear not, the moderators and verifiers at Lush are top shelf.

By the way...what are you into?

You've published nine stories here all told. Saying you've had three rejected does make it sound as though you are misunderstood or unfairly treated, which is hardly the case.

Yes, there are many moderators here, myself included, who are familiar with BDSM. We are also familiar with the guidelines of this site, and no matter what claims someone might make for their preferred sexual choices, site guidelines trump all, and we uphold them.

You will stand by yourself? Every voice should be heard? What on earth are you getting at?

When stories present certain difficulties, we, as moderators, discuss the details amongst ourselves in order to reach a fair consensus as to whether or not it breaks site guidelines or is in some other manner unsuitable for publication here.

You haven't given any details as to why two of your stories were removed for 'debatable' reasons, yet admit that one was too violent. This is an oblique way of casting apserions upon the validity of the moderating staff's decisions, and later on you put into question our credibilitiy.

If you have concerns you are being treated unfairly, you can reply to the PM you received when your story was removed. Reasons, and often help and suggestions for correcting the story are always given. In certain instances, an author will be told not to resubmit the story as it is unsuitable to Lush.

If you have anything further to say about this, please send a message to a moderator.

Thank you.
