I came across this article about Darcie Chan and her quest to become published. This was after a dozen publishers and more than 100 literary agents rejected it. It should be interesting for anyone who truly believes they have written the next great novel.

Yes it is interesting to read of her struggles. The trouble is there are so many budding writers, and the internet had made things worse for now everybody writes. One thing is certain you have to gain a reputation by being read and choice for the reader is just mind-boggling.
There are great novels ( those that will still be being read in a hundred years) and readable novels which entertain us in the present and will be forgotten in a few decades. Not that I can boast in this realm I've got a job to write a passable short story.
