Open Office text question

I use Open Office for writing my stories. I have some dating back to 2006 and one in particular that won't transfer here with paragraphs intact. I copy and paste but the editing vanishes. It's 12 pages long and I would really hate to walk through the entire document to put in the spaces. I've tried Text format, Word 97/2000, and their default setting and they all paste the same way. Two other stories I've posted haven't had that problem. Anyone know what I'm doing wrong?

Thanks in advance.

I had this problem using Word. Apparently, they have hidden coding in them that sends the submission formatting crazy.

Another writer told me that they copy their document, paste it into a Lush private message with their own name in the recipient box, and send it.

I tried that, and it worked. All you have to do after that is copy the sent message body, and paste into the submission form. Job done.

It means a few more mouse clicks, but it works for me!

I hope that helps?

Try a different browser for the submit. Some browsers remove one line between paragraphs when they're written with notepad. I don't know why. Chrome and Firefox don't.

That's for the suggestions, I'll try both and see what happens.

I use Firefox, but not the notepad (I'm not sure what that is). My laptop has a habit of crashing, so I write in Word documents and save them as I go.

I normally use Firefox and tried Explorer which showed a different problem. The email to myself worked so if it happens again I'll know what to do. :-)

Notepad is probably your default editor for .txt files. Right-click with your cursor hovering on your desktop, hover your cursor on New in the menu that shows up, and then select Text Document from the popup menu. That opens notepad and lets you save your document as a .txt file. Very simple text. No formatting except for wordwrap.
