Hello there,
English not being my first language, I sometimes have a hard time figuring out the exact connotation of some sexual terms when I'm writing. I know what the terms mean in general, but I often struggle to realize how vulgar, juvenile, funny, etc. each one of them is.
I tried looking for such information on the web, to no avail.
If some people could help me out with a few terms, I'd greatly appreciate it. The terms I'm most interested in are:
Penis: Dick, Cock, Prick
Testicles: Balls, Nuts, Sack
Vagina: Pussy, Cunt, Snatch, Slit
Breasts: Tits, Titties, Boobs, Boobies
Ass: Butt, Butthole
Person: Slut, Bitch, Whore
A nice way to do it could be to use a template, and rate each term according to a few aspects.
For example:
Pussy
Sexy: 4/5
Vulgar: 2/5
Juvenile: 1/5
Odd: 1/5
Titties
Sexy: 2/5
Vulgar: 3/5
Juvenile: 4/5
Odd: 3/5
Thanks for your help!
Anyone would like to help with some of those terms?
The ones I'm most curious about is 'Cunt' and all those breasts references (Tits, Titties, Boobs, Boobies). It's rather rare that I stumble across Tits/Boobs when reading stories, do these sound too juvenile?
That's a pretty huge task. All those words have very subtle differences in how your reader will react to their use.
Cunts get fucked hard. Relentlessly. Cunts are used. Cunts ache. Can pussies stand up to that? Probably not. A slit is just the pussy from the outside.
Pinch a bottom . Spank a backside. Fuck an ass.
A bitch satisfies her own needs. Sluts do to a certain extent too, though not to the same extent. For whores it's purely a transaction.
A woman will tease your dick, stroke your shaft, sit on your cock but laugh at your willy

Why not read some stories instead
NEW! Want a quick read for your coffee break? Why not try this... Flash Erotica: Scrubber I'm with Buz. Your word choice does a lot to set the tone of the story, and to help define characters.
If you're dealing with a horny 18 yr old guy, having tits, dick, prick, boobs, boobies, ta-tas or any other number of juvenile terms coming out of their mouth or in the narrative for 1st person works just fine.
Use them in a romance story and they clash badly.
Most people sneer at purple prose words like "hardness" and "sex" used in erotica, but I find that sprinkling a few of the less onerous ones in there gives you alternatives and variety that are otherwise lacking without delving into the juvenile.
It had better be truly down and dirty before you roll out "cunt", and even then, some people's arouse-o-meter flatlines the moment the word appears. Set the tone before you use it, and the readers who are still there aren't likely to flee at the sight of it, though.
For the most part, I reserve the juvenile terms for appropriate character dialogue, and up things a notch for the narrative. That's what's always worked out best for me.
