Am I mistaken in thinking this isn't relevant to ebooks? It seems to be primarily about typesetting with some back cover elements.

I agree the article is primarily about print books...but, a lot of the same things that make a self-pubbed print book look "professional" apply to eBooks as well...things like cover images...like not picking a stock image off the net that is used on a hundred other eBooks...formatting, and font choices apply both to print and eBooks...
