Heres one that maybe useful to some writers here...it's a free novel writing software...

Unfortunately, it will not write the novel for you...but...

yWriter5 is a word processing software that breaks your novel into
manageable scenes and chapters, which you can drag and drop as you
wish. Chapters are automatically renumbered as you move them back
and forth, so you don't have to worry about going back to manually
rename each file. You can view word counts and readability reports
for each chapter, and the program also keeps a log of your daily
productivity rate so you can check your progress. Download the
software, or read more details at

Lush Erotica, an Anthology of Award Winning Sex Stories
Zscreen - ZScreen is an open-source screen capture program that quietly resides in your system tray until needed. It can take screenshots of a selected region, the active window, or the entire screen. It can even send screen captures via FTP and copy the URL to your clipboard, all with just a single keystroke.

KeePass - One of those applications that you don’t realize how badly you need until you start using it. It securely stores and manages the login information that you use for e-mail, websites, banks, etc. Unless you always use the exact same login information (a terrible idea!), you need KeePass. It’s even available in a portable version.

BonkEnc - BonkEnc is a fantastic CD ripper, encoder, and audio converter. It’s tiny, lightweight, and is my application of choice for ripping and encoding CDs. BonkEnc can produce MP3, MP4/M4A, Ogg Vorbis, AAC, Bonk and FLAC files, and also features CDDB/freedb lookup.

GnuCash - If you recoil in horror at the bloat of financial programs such as Microsoft Money and Quicken, GnuCash may suit your needs. It’s a slimmer version of those programs, and it has all the features I need for managing my meager amount of money.

Eraser - If you are paranoid about someone else recovering your sensitive deleted data, you owe it to yourself to check out Eraser. When you delete a file, your operating system really just removes the reference to the file from the file system table. The actual data is still present and can be recovered with an undelete utility. I definitely recommend this!

AutoHotkey - It’s hard to know where to begin with this one. What can you do with AutoHotkey? Almost anything! For starters, by using custom keystrokes and mouse-clicks, you can automate practically any repetitive task. Define any shortcut for Windows. Remap keys and buttons any way you please. Control your mouse cursor with your keyboard. By writing your own scripts, the potential is limitless.

MP3Gain - MP3Gain is a simple and elegant application that serves one main purpose – to automatically adjust MP3 files so they all play at the same volume. It does it without decoding and re-encoding, so the quality remains the same. No more fiddling with the volume between different songs.

Battle For Wesnoth - Battle for Wesnoth is a single/multiplayer turn-based strategy game with a fantasy theme. You can build an army from different kinds of units, such as trolls, elves, dwarves, and orcs. There are a number of standard campaigns included, plus a growing number of user-authored campaigns available on the campaign server.

Alien Arena - A deathmatch-type game along the lines of Quake III and Unreal Tournament. The action is fast and furious, and for me mostly consists of running around and dying. I tend to suck at first-person deathmatch games anyway, but the game is quite engrossing.

Cube 2: Sauerbraten - A free multiplayer/singleplayer first person shooter, built as a major redesign of the Cube FPS.

When the 3 morning arrived new york escort the Druids would give new york asian escort a piece of wood new york escorts from their fires to each family, then they would take them home to start new cooking fires. These new york asian escorts fires would keep the homes warm and free from evil
Thanks for the bump. I'm not sure how current that list is, but most of the programs should still be around. Good free programs usually are, unless a money hungry corp gobbles them up.

I'm building a new Velociraptor hard drive for my entertainment & video production pc and while doing so, I'm downloading what I consider to be the finest video player I've ever found for a Windows operating system. The full download is 24.3Mb which expands to 75.6Mb for the almost entire installation (hard drive space required).

KMPlayer < link to the CNet review & download link if you want to try it. It has several native codecs built into it and it will play just about anything I've ever asked it to. I discovered it in 2008, the latest version is full of bling (which I choose not to use - I deselect during installation - it's Pandora 'grid network' for instance). I'm not into anime nor Korean soap operas.

The player itself however is... excellent, intuitive and extremely user friendly (for n00bs & old hands alike). If you have a common (or uncommon) video file which you wish to view & Windows Media Player won't run it - KMPlayer will play it. It has codecs installed you've never heard of and you might find them after a few days of searching the 'net. Then you have to install them properly. That (if you've done it) is a pain in the ass.

Installation screenshots:

After you've downloaded to whichever folder on your hard drive and then *Run as Administrator (here you deselect 'Pandora Grid Network - scroll down)

You will then choose where to install the program to, on your computer (I place it where my main OS program files will reside)

You will be provided a menu of what I call - sneaky offers (bloatware) = Spammy Ick you don't want to put on your machine. Deselect the already check-marked boxes.

Once you have unchecked the two [] boxes above and the one below - click on the [I Accept] buttons to proceed through the installation. There is no - [Decline] presented as you might see with other bloatware offers on other program installations.

This is where it gets a bit 'tricky'... The South Korean dude who set this up & his program Manager must not be fluent in English. You'll see this screen after cruising through the two Bloatware offers above. Just click on the [Finish] button. Leave the box checked for *Run The KMPlayer.

Then you'll see THIS screen which would lead most people to believe there are another 10 steps or menu selections to deal with. Not true. Click the box marked [Next] Accept this default (or choose your preferred language - there are several drop-down/customizable menus within the Player itself. Many languages to choose from. I choose English - and the English is translated very well. I can only assume the other other languages are similarly translated.

This is the final application window/viewer. Merely (Right-mouse button - Click) your mouse with your cursor anywhere inside the player, to bring up a main menu, where you can then begin to familiarize yourself with the application - select a video file to watch and then...fine tune how it is presented to you. The application will open to a 720p sized window, but the rectangular area can easily be sized to fit any size you wish for your 10" notebook monitor, all the way up to your 55" flat panel Plasma tv.

None of the other stuff you see on the screen (above) will do anything at all if you click on them - unless you install KMPlayer's offered - Pandora Grid Network tool - at the very beginning of this installation process. I've tried it before. I consider it to be ICKUS...and it probably tracks your IP address as well...so I choose to not be victimized by their software in this installation.

This is an excellent little FREE video player, which again - has every normal to weird video-codec installed inside of it, which I've ever run across a need to utilize. Avoid installing the SPAM - in images 3 and 4, and you'll be happy with the software.
