writing about other Lushies

I entered the title in search and didn't find a thread that sufficiently dealt with the topic to my liking.

Is it generally frowned upon to write stories about other Lushies? I can well imagine a lot of people rolling their eyes and going "oh great - another story about her". I guess it depends a lot on the author/subject too. I know I'm forgetting more questions here.

I have written a few stories that have featured friends of mine on here, but only with their permission. If you meet someone and find you share an interest, it can be fun to write about that in a story featuring the two of you ;)

I have (especially in the Sammich co-writing with Maz) included a bunch of Lushies in stories. We make sure to get written permission from every Lushie we plan to include. Some really close friends trust us enough and have given us carte blanche to use them in the story however we see fit and some friends are more comfortable just being a cameo in the story. read2

They're also the first to hound our asses when we slack on getting the sequels published. laughing8

I have written stories / poems with some Lushies as the "focal point", but never mentioned them by name. They KNEW is was for them. Done this way to protect identity and privacy.

I have written 3 stories here so far, all of which are written for or insipred by my friends here.

While I don't generally use their real names, I have written dedications to them as they are the ones who inspired my writing.

Also had a friend of mine write one about me. Was very flattered. smile

I have written poems expressly to and about one individual, and she is the only one who has carte blanch to use me in her stories which she has done. I think the recurring theme is and should be to get their permission. Some members are very well known by either their real name or a certain feature (yes my girl that is a reference to you) that people know who your writing about, and let's face it the implications can be both positive and negative.
