Types of Orgasms

A while ago, I stumbled across an article describing many types of orgasms that women can experience, and some of its content made me wonder.

Sure, we can agree that women can reach orgasm by stimulating different parts of their genitals, but some of these 'orgasms' seem a bit far-fetched to me, especially the mouth, skin and mental orgasms. Men have a mouth, skin and brain too (well, most of them regarding the latter), yet I've never heard any of them mention they could reach orgasm this way (though wet dreams could be considered mental orgasms).

So, can you reach these types of orgasms? If so, how would it compare to a purely sexual orgasm?

How would you describe these orgasms? Can you actually feel them in your genitals, even though they are triggered by other body parts?

Thanks and enjoy.

Hi SP.

I can vouch for Numbers 1, 2, 3, 6, and 10

While never having had an orgasm solely from stimulation to areas 4 and 5, these are both areas where I have felt pleasurable sensations during sex.

Much to my surprise, No 10 has happened a few times, usually by auditory stimulation or reading erotic content. My imagination does much more to arouse me than watching any porn, and I'm not in the habit of watching other people have sex.

I've never had an orgasm by sole stimulation to my breasts or skin and never from kissing only.

How do these compare to a purely sexual orgasm? In my opinion, these ARE purely sexual orgasms. No matter how or where the stimulation is done, it's still sexual stimulation isn't it?

You make very nice questions - as I have said before: including pictures or diagrams that are easy to read and contain interesting information, (as well as fun & thought provoking to answer).

I watched a movie, with actress Charlize Theron, called "Celebrity" {2008} & there was a club/party scene that revealed that her character was so into "touch" by skin (that it could make her orgasm by a touch on her wrist, etc.) like someone on X... if anyone ever wants to seek the movie to watch it.
[Some of the scene is in here/her explanation is not. It is edited unfortunately:]

(Cute movie. Reminded me a lil of Woody Allen films.) ... I know this is a fictional supermodel character & I am no super model, yet that might be possible with me, I come very close, and usually it just takes a little more to send me over the edge... a kiss, my breasts fondled, etc... very close, so not impossible.

The breasts are an erogenous zone to me, so I can understand that leading to orgasm. With me, VERY nearly solo at any time, even more than "just an orgasmic touch" of orgasm by touch alone. This is definately an area and something that holds true for me. I think I teeter right on that threshold.

I have had to learn A LOT of self-control to get through life... (and not that I like that) but that control can certainly be let go of.

Mental orgasms are also possible.

Yes they are different - as a clitorial orgasm is different from a vaginal "O" or penetrative sex orgasm with a partner. I STILL feel it inside my privates.. My clitoris and body parts are STILL physically stimulated and excited and the orgasm is usually a deeper one within, although mental seems a combination. It is hard to explain because they are all different but they are definately physiological and not just mental associative or purely emotional. Something happens physically and there is a real physical orgasm produced... sometimes it is slighter, sometimes not so slight (for me).

In order MOST common for "Myself":
1. Clitoral is dominate when I am alone (because of "how" I choose to masturbate)...
2. 2, 4, 5 penetrative WITH my lover. (As I have mentioned the -above mentioned- "Deep-Spot O" for me on another of your forum questions about G-spots) more than the "G-spot" -I cannot recall an orgasm directly from that location (?) & not to my knowledge/memory... but 4, & 5, yes, the "A" and the "Deep" ~ (not recalling "U")...
3. Followed by 7, 8, 10, and 9 Highly sensitive & plausible. I have always said my breasts were an erogenous zone, certain places on my skin, and that of oral sex and kissing being something I could endlessly enjoy doing and reach climax during. It is very much a physical turn-on stimulus that could result in triggering my own orgasm based on the mental, the act, or the touch. I LOVE kissing. I LOVE giving oral sex, and I LOVE my breasts touched, kissed, sucked, etc- in many ways that does something to me, and it is an orgasmic trigger/switch in what it does - it is "physical" and can result in inducing an orgasm, yes.

So only two- the G and the U are ones I am not sure or just do not recall anything definiate.

To answer your question: Yes, these are reached in a physical orgasm by me IN the genitals [in the same way, minus the direct touch] and NOT far-fetched ideas at all. I think some women are more sensitive or have more sexual drive, enjoy touch more/more sensuous, or sexual-minded... etc. There are so many variables and I believe many of these are chemical and physical as well as work together in the mental aspects. Studies on this prove VERY interesting indeed and the statistics are insightful as well. I would think I fall in the more high-end (but normal) range, yet I honestly really do not know if I am normal or not or where I fall. My own research and reading has left me believeing this or left it inconclusive.

I prefer penetrative sex with a partner/my boyfriend (strongest orgasm usually) and then giving oral sex/kissing is equal on that scale to my breasts being stimulated... degrees still vary as these can all be strong orgasms.

Clitorial is NOT always the strongest orgasm for me, oral or selfinduced but certainly can be strong, especially if squirting or gushing is involved which is random comparatively speaking (less than half the time), but clitoral CAN be stronger than breast or mental or kissing....etc. and yet again - degrees still vary and it can alternate and change. I am not sure which is the least strong physical orgasm... but I would say skin, mental and clitoral are more often rotating there. (Clitorial can rival penetrative but for me penetrative still wins as the strongest. So much just depends).

I hope that my answer helps shed a little more light from one more person's perspective.

From the unreliable but often I seek this source because I DO like WIKIPEDIA: "People have erogenous zones all over their bodies, but which areas are more sensitive than others vary. Some may resent stimulation that others find arousing. The stimulation of these areas can produce gentle, mild or intense arousal." - just to add about the errogenous zones that CAN be orgasmic, too.

I can only claim to have experienced #1 and #2. I may have experienced 3, 4, 5 or 6 and thought that it was a #2. For me #1 (the clitoral) is my most experienced and favorite. I have never had a #7 (breast orgasm) but I have been intensely turned on while having my nipples attended to and when the attention was moved lower my orgasm was quick and powerful.

The only one that really relieves pressure for me is #1 (clitoral) and ONLY if a partner does it with tongue. The only kind that takes away frustration and that 'I need to get off now' feeling. If I'm ever single or widowed, I'm screwed.

I have had #2 ONCE---last year, total fluke. Probably never happen again.

I've had plenty of #3 (g-spot). Sometimes accompanied by gushes. The g-spot ones are very fleeting, they don't relieve any pent up frustration I may be having, but they are very intense anyway.

#7 (breasts) once. And will remember how it felt until the day I die even if I live to be 100!! It was like #2 and #3 combined but happened from having my nipples sucked/bitten and I don't know what the hell else he did to them but it was delicious torture.

They all feel different, and happen in different ways/areas. It's fascinating. Ten years ago I'd never had ANY!

#10 I'd probably have on the spot from hearing dirty talk during sex. I'm pretty sure that would set me off like crazy ;)

This is what makes me wonder the most. Only 1LovelyKinkyKitsune mentioned that she can feel those other orgasms in her genitals.

It seems pretty subjective to me in any case. Even if a 'genital orgasm' is reached that way, I'm doubtful that it would be as intense as a purely sexual orgasm achieved by stimulating the clitoris/vagina. In the case where the orgasm is only felt in the concerned body part (breasts, mouth, skin, etc.), that would be even more subjective.

Plus, they totally forgot about anal orgasms, which are actually a lot more plausible than a few of these other ones. I might actually start a new thread about 'anal orgasms' at a later point. Apparently, the internal clitoris can be stimulated during anal sex, to the point of orgasm.

That IS where it is felt... regardless of the stimulus, the orgasm is from there. I may be in the minority, and honestly, that would not surprise me. I am used to that really... BUT, even if the numbers are small, I think you should make a poll. ^~^ You could make a poll (such as for the types of orgasms) or various things and that might want to see the numbers on. (?) smile

Love the list. I can say that many of the have worked with me at times in the past. But being scientific about it I should try them all again. :

I noticed this too! I've had some really potent orgasms while being ass-fucked, so this list isn't exactly comprehensive. But some of the others on the list I've never even heard of, let alone experienced.

Besides clitoral, G-spot (which I call vaginal orgasm), and anal, I've had breast-stimulated "O's", and oral (I came once when a boy was ejaculating into my mouth). All these orgasms are centered in the groin, radiating from my clit (inside and out), but with really huge orgasms, they radiate outward and consume my whole body. I've been with girls who have orgasms so intense, they nearly pass out. Not sure I really want them THAT big or not, but I've never seen a guy pass out from an orgasm!

I can't remember exactly where I extracted that picture (I created this thread almost a year ago), but I know for sure that it wasn't all that scientific; more like one of these questionable articles that you can find in women's magazines at times.

I mean, even the 2-3 orgasms (vaginal and G-spot) and 4-5 orgasms (A-spot and deep spot) are essentially the same. The A-spot is located near the cervix, not "3-4" deep in the front wall of the vagina" as they mention in that article:

I also had this link summarizing Kinsey's studies in my bookmarks (the most comprehensive studies regarding human sexuality ever conducted):

Quote by [url=http://www.kinseyinstitute.org/research/ak-data.html#erogenouszones
Kinsey Institute[/url]]The Kinsey interviews showed that there is no part of the human body which is not sufficiently sensitive to effect erotic arousal for at least some individuals in the population. He estimated that breasts and especially the nipples of the breasts were erotically sensitive in perhaps half of the females (with breast stimulation alone sufficient for orgasm in a very small percentage of females).

So yeah, even breasts seem to be able to trigger orgasms only in a minority of women; it makes you wonder about the validity/frequency of these other ones. Aside from genital orgasms, I've only witnessed girls experiencing breasts orgasms on a few rare occasions myself, but even then it implied some other form of stimulation either prior/during their orgasm... and I also questioned the intensity/legitimacy of these orgasms.
