The Fault in Our Stars - This movie made me cry - a whole lot. I was expecting a typical teenage movie that was okay. This is a five star movie all the way.

Maragarita, With a Straw - An Indian movie, I was expecting nothing more than just okay. Not only is it the best Indian movie I have ever seen, it is the best movie about a disabled person I have seen since Rain Man.

Scavenger Hunt - One of the three greatest slapstick comedies of all time. The last time I checked, it had still not been released to DVD, but this will make you laugh your ass off!

The Usual Suspects - I had no idea what to expect. Lots of plot twists that you don't see coming.

Downfall - A German made movie about the last days of Adolf Hitler? Yeah right! Well guess what? They hit it out of the park.

A Simple Plan - The best movie about greed since The Treasure of the Sierra Madre. Bill Paxton and Billy Bob Thornton are perfect for those roles.

And too, "The Mission". It is very moving. The soundtrack is amazing. We had a quartet perform Ennio Marricone's "Gabriel's Oboe" for my bridal march.

Terrific cinematography. Jeremy Irons was stupid casting though.

Boyhood

They filmed it over a 12 year time frame. It was fabulous.

Agreed. I actually know Richard Linklater, somewhat. He introduced me to Quenton Tarentino when he was in Austin. This was one of his three best movies IMO, along with Dazed and Confused and Bernie.
Just imagine being a child who had never been outside, whose entire universe was comprised of the tiny interior of a storage shed. You have never touched a leaf or a tree and have only met two human beings in your entire life. Now, visualize what an overwhelming shock it would be to suddenly be freed, all of your senses constantly bombarded with totally foreign sensations to the point that you miss that room. This is a heavy duty movie that explains the Stockholm Syndrome better than any movie ever made IMO.
You can count on Shannon. She knows a thing or three about this topic.
1. The burning of Rosebud at the end of Citizen Kane.
2. Ilsa getting on the plane at the end of Casablanca.
3. The horse head scene in The Godfather.
4. Lee J. Cobb threatening to kill Henry Fonda in 12 Angry Men.
5. Rhett telling Scarlett, "Frankly my dear, I don't give a damn."
6. Jimmie Stewart and Donna Reed have the hots for each other in the phone scene from It's a Wonderful Life.
7. The Nazi commandant taking target practice from his balcony in Schindler's List.
8. The car washing scene from Cool Hand Luke.
9, The War Room scene from Dr. Strangelove.
10. Slim Pickins riding the bomb down in Dr, Strangelove.

Was Emo's the place that became Club Foot?

No. Club Foot was not on 6th Street.
That picture of Johnny Cash shooting the finger was actually taken during SXSW one year in Austin at a punk club on 6th Street called Emo's.
I've seen her around, but don't know her yet. I'd buy her a beer if I see her in Austin.
