If anyone wants to be my friend, I always look at their profile first as well. I'm not one of these people who collect "friends", nor am I one to refuse someone because I've never interacted. Some people might like what you said in a thread, or didn't like what you said, and want to be your friend. They may want to reply to you, and feel more comfy if they're on your friend list.
Some profiles make the person appear self-absorbed and rude. Making themselves appear unapproachable, giving demands about who, what and when they will honor you with being their friend. .... Yeah, it's their profile and their wishes I get it.

This topic is on another thread if I'm not mistaken. I think it's funny how some people respond to a photo as if it's the individual (when it's obvious to most, that the other photos in their gallery aren't the same person). I'm not sure the majority cares. I see now that it's a sensitive subject for a group.
