I think the last couple of pages in this thread have been discussing the merits of the 1-5 scoring system. What would you do with all of the existing stories if this was implemented? If the scores were left as is, then there would be no publications on-site 'better than average'.
I can't personally see any need for changing the existing functionality. It's only there for people to give a bit of honest feedback on a story, and to assist other readers in finding something good to read.

I started by saying it would be hard to implement. I am a virtual novice he compared to you. So I yield to your wisdom. Since a ten is a x2 value of 5, couldn't the previous scores be multiplied by two? For instance a 4.5 would be a nine. Or 4.25 would be an 8.5. Other than that, I have no answer. I'm perfectly happy the way it is. I only suggested it because some people were complaining abount low scores I would suggest that the trolls might love it seeing how they could do twice the damage.
Btw. I love your work and wouldn't think you to get less than ten ... Or... five... Or... whatever.

Carol had a good idea but I think might be hard to implement. She suggested changing the story scoring from 1-5 to 1-10. This would possibly motivate people to vote fairly. The way it stands now ipeople think a four Is a low score, whereas an eight is easier to take. I actually thought it to be a great improvement idea.

No. I really don't care for body art. There are tasteful and overly done ones. The tramp stamp is so common now that I almost expect it. Living at the beach I get an eyeful of them. A little rose on the shoulder or butt is tasteful in my view but I just can't imagine permanent ink on the face and neck to be a good decision. You can get away with it at twenty but what will it look like on a 60 year old?

Wow. This hits home for me. A couple years ago I had an affair with my secretary that turned weird. She was asking if her husband could watch. That triggered a guilt response in me that made me want to confess to my wife. Probably not a great idea. But... I confessed. I still loved my wife dearly but I guess I should have gone to a priest for absolution. The result was she didn't get mad (bad sign) but she did get even. She went out a revenge fucked five guys. (Later I found out it was all at once not one at a time.) Anyway, after a year apart we realized a couple things. We still loved each other but we also liked the company of others occasionally. We went to a lifestyle therapist and are now remarried in an open relationship. We now communicate better and since there is nothing to hide the trust factor is much improved.
