I have a few permanent tattoos, two big ones. I'd suggest someone considering their first tattoo to try a temporary tattoo to see how they like it, then proceed to the real thing if they like it.
Temporary tattoos are good for theme parties or maybe exotic vacations.
My actual tattoos are easily hidden under business attire, even business casual or doing the polo shirt thing, for career reasons. So it takes going to the pool or the beach or riding my motorcycles with sleeveless shirts to show my tattoos. My wife and I have done some temporary tattoos for vacation before.
My wife had some tattoos removed and said that was more painful than getting the tattoo in the first place. So there's a place for the temps. Give yourself some variety. Do you wear the same shirt every day of your life? Why not have the ability to change up your tattoos some?
I'd say do whatever your mood desires. Life is too short to worry about being judged by someone else. Usually, the judgers are the most shallow.
. Temporary is the way to go, maybe a henna tattoo.
