For non-contest stories, I'd strongly suggest breaking it into something like three segments.

Just imo, length doesn't matter that much for contest entries. As long as Nic is running things, LUSH comp winners will be based on quality, not popularity. In other words, damn the word count. Just keep it under 10k and write your story your way.

For the suds heads among us, I've just stumbled across a case of this new beer. According to Tawny, the sign they left with it reads:
