To avoid that, I have to go back to the home page and select random each time, to get stories in different categories. That's how I thought it would be done too. Gav wanted to have it so that if someone wanted a random *category* story, they could have that choice too, instead of perhaps a bdsm story or something they are no into popping up. You have to start at the home page each time and press the button I'm afraid.
The main reason it was not randomised across categories was that had a high chance of appearing (there's more stories of that genre than any other). Someone who is offended by such topics might be in distress seeing all that . Saying that, this was implemented before we had category filtering, so maybe something we can add back in.
