Good Saturday morning, fellow barfiles. Today's a good day for reading, writing and doing whatever. I decided to take a break from my academic writing to have a coffee-fueled alcoholic beverage. While I don't have a story to submit into the contest to honor Alan's memory, I have an old story I wrote several years back that's going to be posted sometime soon and dedicated to him. Anyway, I have smooth jazz playing in the background and planning tonight's dinner.

Hello! It's been awhile since I've been in this fine establishment. I returned to school and currently am in the BA/MA program so I can get both my bachelor's and master's in the world of journalism. I'm taking a break from reading various materials for classes and want to throw my phone out the window. It's amazing how much a journalism major has to read on a daily basis and write, discuss, flush out and the whole nine. I need something stiff to drink.
