Mods, if the 'inc fantasies' are only 'fantasy' why is there a 'true' tag on 1 of the stories? I noticed it due to my big fingers getting in the way. I wasn't logged in yet. Does that make a difference? I did as folks suggested, hid that category. I'm fairly certain the subject in that category is illegal. To promote 'true' stories on the guise of fantasy seems awfully underhanded. Considering this site promotes itself as a high caliber site.

The only I.F. story I can find with a 'true' tag is one featuring cousins. I think there is mixed legality on relations between cousins depending on which country you live in. Probably shouldn't be on there anyway, but always nice to throw in a little context before jumping straight to the 'underhanded' remarks. We'll sort it out.

A word of warning. I just tried to use FireFTP to transfer some files to a server. It no longer works with Firefox Quantum.

As a browser, it seems excellent.

One of the decisions Mozilla made to enhance the security of the browser was to restrict what directories extensions can access. That means that everything inside the browser is sandboxed to your download directory, which is obviously no good for an FTP client hence them pulling support for it. I suspect other browsers will follow suit in the future as it sounds like a sensible security precaution.

I use FileZilla which is superb as a standalone FTP client. Free and open source. smile

There needs to be an advert for stories on the homepage. When I visit Lush, the first thing I see is a big banner advertising breast cancer. That's gotta go. That's not erotic. That's gonna put people off straight away.

My, you certainly are opinionated, aren't you?

That banner serves two purposes. It not only advertises our latest story competition but also the site's efforts to raise money for a worthy cause. Regardless of what you think of it, it will remain until the competition finishes. I personally think it reveals a more human side to the website which could be seen by many to be nothing more than a repository of erotic fiction rather than an actual online community.

The point is, Liz, this is an adult site. If people are that sensitive that they can't even look at the word " " without being offended, then adult sites are not the best places to be.

I find it disheartening that Nicola is trying to push things forward, trying to evolve the site and encourage more people to use it, thus ensuring the site's future, yet people are trying to put a negative spin on it.

I see things that offend me all the time, but I tolerate it, don't whine about it, because I'm an adult and can tolerate things I don't like. Fictitious stories don't hurt anybody; that's the point I'm making.

People can make their own decisions about whether or not Lush is for them, then come and go as they please. The restriction on the discussion of on other areas of the site is out of respect for people with sensibilities about the topic for whatever reason. I'm glad you are a thick-skinned individual that does not find the subject objectionable, but other people do. Live and let live.

Some words I love to say and some I can't bear to.

I'm the same. Cappuccino, linguini, mellifluous, quiver, lacuna, amaranthine... *dreamy sigh*

@Raza - Relax, monkey man. S'all good. The word itself isn't banned, we just discourage the mention of that particular topic anywhere on the site with the exception of published stories. The people who don't use use the word either find it distasteful or are refraining as a consideration to others.

FOllowing up on the OP, I also have a story pending that I would like to change to fantasy. It's called Birthday Blues.

Done.

Would it be possible for the mods to reject my pending story, Family Camping? I wrote it as a story under the impression that the site refused . Now I've found the category, I would like to re-upload it as an story.

Done. You can now edit your story via the 'Stories List' link on the top of your profile page.
Why? Because if you're going to buy a toy to 'twixt your nethers', you may as well buy one powerful enough to register on the Richter scale.

Just updated my Firefox app to the brand new release called Firefox Quantum and I can highly recommend it as a web browser. It has a considerable performance improvement over Google Chrome (at least for me), and it also seems a lot less resource hungry.

Top marks so far! ?

I voted for 'Pschedelic Sappho' even though the spelling bothered me. ?

Bring on some groovy, hippy girl-on-girl, man.
I’m going to have a large Baileys with ice.

I don't believe that many have thought it through. The question of privacy and data security doesn't seem to be present in these debates. If Lush is so hand to mouth that it had to reintroduce , what is it doing to protect its members from hacks and other breaches in privacy? It just became a bigger target for hackers who want to make mischief under the guise of doing good.

Wasn't an issue for nine years when fantasies were previously published here. Feel free to PM Gav asking about the security measures put in place to protect Lush members. I'm sure he would oblige your curiosity by explaining how the site's TLS certificate works in relation to traffic encryption and the basics of SHA-2 hashing and salting. He knows what he is doing.

Edit: In case anyone is interested in web security, Lush actually scores higher in a Qualys SSL Labs server test than Barclays Bank as it no longer accepts obsolete and insecure encryption protocols such as SSL 3.

It's not so much values as is a direct personal effect for some of us. Those of us who've been abused in horrible ways, it's not a matter of "Puritan values". It's because of real life and how comfortable or not someone is by staying. And for whatever reason people want to go, they shouldn't be shamed if they do.

Absolutely understandable. And everyone on the site is completely free to remain or leave as they wish. I think Miss Coffee was annoyed that some people seem to have taken it upon themselves to use their own feelings on the matter to try to influence others by taking on the role of a doomsayer, which is not cool.

If anyone has a problem with these fictional stories being back on site and no longer wishes to be a member of Lush, that's totally fine and no one is being shamed about it, but causing a ruckus from atop a soapbox on the way out of the door is just troublemaking.

Hmm. Can't try it myself as I'm just a Goldie. The platinum membership level was added after all of the others so it could just be something that was overlooked at the time. I'd drop a PM to Gav. If that is the case I'm sure it would be a pretty quick fix.
Quote by IAMLOVE
I want to hide my Platinum from my profile but it won't hide it. Is this a glitch? Can anyone else who is Platinum try hiding it as well and see if it works, please?

Thank you.

Do you mean the wreath on your avatar?
Congratulations on your awesome award!
Congratulations, Curvy! Very well deserved.

Just my

I'm certain that it wouldn't have been brought back if it wasn't absolutely necessary in order to keep the site alive. Unfortunately, bills still need paying.

The only place the content will be entertained is in published stories and if you hide the category in your account settings then you will never see any of it on the site. I think that is the best solution that can be realistically offered.

I have successfully moved my story A Woodland Walk from Flash Erotica to the Outdoor category without any problems at first. However when I click on Outdoor on the home page it does not appear to be listed. This may because it takes a little time for the indexing system to catch up. I will have a look at some of my other stories later to see if any if them could be recategorised.

It shows fine for me on the 'outdoor' category page. You might need to clear down your browser cache or try a hard refresh on that page for things to display properly. smile
Got searched at Gatwick coming back from Amsterdam once. Probably because myself and my traveling companion smelled like Lemon Haze and Moroccan Hash.

Maybe a silly question, but are the badges automated as soon as you hit certain criteria, or are they approved and awarded by moderators/admins as well? It appears that I meet all the criteria listed for Autobiographer (and possibly the criteria for some other badges) that don't appear on my page yet.

Please bear with me, I'm new to this. I swear I'll get the hang of things eventually...

There are scripts that run at scheduled times which process things like badges. I’d give it at least 24 hours.

Contact Gav.

Thanks for trying to offer some advice to a new member but that’s jumping the gun.

@Mr. Sadist, try it again now. Should be resolved.

There's only three entries yet! I feel there should be a special badge for the top three. Nothing makes people more excited than badgessssss.
