1- the Holiday competition made me think about the possibility of an author "re-releasing" an older story if it fit into a seasonally appropriate category. Maybe there could be something like a "holiday" category, which could even be temporary, during the pertinent holiday season. During the time that the category is open, authors could essentially re-release older stories that fit the holiday, whether it's Christmas, Halloween, etc.

Maybe what I'm suggesting is more of a temporary holiday category, where old (and new) stories that were category-appropriate would appear all together for the life of the temporary category. New stories would appear both on front page and in the temporary category, and older stories in the temporary category only.

2-Related to the above is the following. Would it be possible to allow an author to re-release an older story onto the front page under certain conditions? Those could be fairly strict, to cut down on floods of older stories: e.g., story has to be at least a year old, author can't have released a new story in the last 15 days (or 30, or 60), author can do it only very infrequently (1x-2x a year) etc etc. It just seems that old stories often kind of fade away and die. As an author, I'd love to have the chance to have some of my older stories have another chance at readers, and as a reader I'd also like to get another crack at a story that I may have missed the first time around, especially if I know that the author thinks particularly highly of it. If such stories had some sort of "re-released" icon, it might allow readers to know that that story is one that the author is proud enough of to choose to re-release. I imagine that if the rules for re-releasing were fairly stringent, it might not really result in that many new stories flooding the front page. Maybe as an author you could only do it 1x or 2x a year. So the fact that an author chose *that particular one* is an indication that he/she thinks it's worth being re-released.

I'd love to know, for example, what writers like Sprite, or Buz, or Mysteria, people with vast libraries, would think of as their best stuff and want to have people read as if it were new.

You might want to consider moving the stories you want your readers to look at near the top of your profile page. This way those stories will catch their eyes.

For me, I just write the stories and once they hit the front page.....I'm already onto my next story. I have roughly 6.90 Million views to my stories and poems. I don't think we need to look at older stories again on the front page. My older stories get looked at frequently. My readers know that I write a lot and sometimes will write me to ask me where they should start in my collection. That's also a good way to get those older stories looked at.

I like the idea of a Holiday Category. I think the stories would just stay in that category and not have to be moved around. They would just be there so the readers could find them easier if they wish.
