Le Mepris---Brigitte Bardot at her most stunning
Le Parapluies de Cherborg----Catherine Deneuve's career-launching film

I would highly recommend that you subscribe to Hulu, they have the entire Criterion collection with many classic foreign films.

Thanks. I have seen most of the Criterion Collection.
Good suggestions! I saw Raise the Red Lantern when it came to the states. I'll look up the others.
I have been on a foreign movie kick (primarily Irish and Scandinavian) and hoping others can suggest further good films to watch (old or new).

Some films that I liked:

Rare Exports
Ragnorok
Spring, summer, Fall, Winter, ...and Spring
Guardian
In Darkness
Le Nuit de Varennes
King of Hearts
Winters Tale
Escape (Flukt)
Thale (tail)
Hammer of the Gods

The Veteran
The Hundred Foot Journey
The Station Agent
Dark Valley
Jack Taylor Mysteries

What would you recommend?
