I always comment anyway, so I have no problem with it. Personally, I feel it's playing roullet with my scores, and I won't ask for a mandetory comment. Especially since it doesn't say who voted. Yes, it's easy to see in the timeline, but if someone is offended by it, they won't care.

Also, most writers are very aware of their overall score, and a four can bring them say, from a 4.98 to a 4.97. Let's not pretend ego's don't play a part in what scores we get.

Between 1977 and 1994, Joseph Naso only killed four women, but all four had alliterative names - their first and last names both began with the same letters.

I've never heard of him, but I'll look him up. Wikipedia has an entire list of them, and their gruesome crimes

Yes! Serial Killers fascinate me so much. I watch documentaries about them and the psychological reasons they do it. I own books about Jeff Dahmer, Ted Bundy, Medieval crime and killers. I am oddly fascinated with that stuff.

Me too, I watch everything on TV that comes on. I am completely dumbfounded as to why they do what they do? What part of a human is capable of such evil? Ive read a lot of books about them as well, but nothing scared me as much as Helter Skelter. Although, Richard Ramirez has a very intersting backstory.

One that freaks me out and is really interesting is Gary Heidnik. He abducted at least seven women, murdered two of them and one he cooked and ate. He had an IQ of 148, and schizophrenic. He was also one of the inpirations for Buffalo Bill in Silence of the Lambs, but I think that character was based on several different killers, like Ed Gien...creepy!

You mean Grandpa Fish? Only known for Grace Budd's nine day feast.

Oh GOD! Why would her parents let him 'take her to a birthday party' with him? They didn't even know him. So sad, that poor little girl.

The oh so many signs leading you out of it.

we say the same thing at Disneyland, lol!
This was a tough one, but The White Tower was the most interesting by far. The prison Sir Francis Drake was in to the apartments and the lawn the twins were last seen on. So much history there. Do I sound like a bragger? Good, lol! (but it was a really fun trip!)

Streching advice anyone??

No...just spelling advice (there is a 't' in 'stretching')

Sorry, we are writers here and a bit OCD

Try some Yoga

Serial Killers do fascinate me--I have my favorites, mainly cannibals but I've read many theories like the one you've brought up.

Oh man! Cannibles freak me out! Albert Fish comes to mind...sick bastard

As I recall, Holms bragged that he could have sex with any woman he met. That was part of his secret for prolific serial killing. He was a true artist at seduction. He was also a doctor. His home was designed specifically to be a murder factory.

Oh, yeah, that was his Murder Castle in Chicago. He considered himself a savant at killing. I'm including a link about the movie. I guess Leonardo is playing Holmes, but tomato, tomatoe...

Jack the Ripper was British though. That was in London. Though we have plenty of American serial killers to choose from. Yeah, from H. H. Holmes to Ted Bundy, to Jeffery Dalmer to who knows. The FBI says there are usually around 40 serial killers operating around the country at any given time.

Yes, true! If that doesn't make you look over your shoulder while walking to your car, nothing does. I once had someone pull into my driveway right behind me at like 3 in the morning. I stopped and didn't finish pulling into my garage, and thought if I had to I'd back out across my lawn...it turned out to be my neighbor, turning around to park in her own driveway. Stupid bitch scared the shit out of me.

I was, actually, almost abducted by a real serial killer once. I put the story about it on story space if anyone's interested. I was walking home from work when I was 23 and this guy (I found out later he was called 'The Folsum Wolf) James Gregory Marlow. Scary...

I've always been fascinated by serial killers. Have read most of the books on them.

Serial Killer facts.

"The most prolific female serial killer in history is Elizabeth Bathory (1560–1614). After her husband’s death, she and four collaborators
were accused of torturing and killing hundreds of girls and young women.
One witness places the number at 600 victims, though they were convicted of 80.

While women make up just a very small percentage of serial killers, they constitute the majority of victims: 65%."

Me too. There was a show on I think the ID channel? Anyway, it was called 'Most Evil' with Dr. Michael Stone. It was fascinating. He had developed a scale from 1-22 to catagorize the level of evil.

H.H. Holmes is the most unique ever. Like Nymphwriter mentioned, he had built a 'Murder Castle' in Chicago, and it was ready for guests during the Worlds fair in 1893. I watched a program on Netflix about him, and that was the one and only time I ever had a night terror. He claimed to be as talented at killing as Mozart was at music.

The video I posted makes an excellent case for the Ripper and Holmes to be the same person. Holmes was fascinated by hormones and specifically womens reproductive system (mainly ovaries) because he thought he could find the secret to longevity. Jack the Ripper was disecting women, surgically. Cuts only a Dr. could perform.

Fascinting stuff

I didn't know women made up the majortiy of actual murders! I knew all about her, but still...holy cow

Well, he was in London, but it's only been accepted widely he was British. HH Holmes killed in 1887, none in 1888, and began again in 1889. Jack the Rippers murders all took place in 1888.
Composit police drawing of Jack the Ripper from eyewitness accounts

H. H. Holmes

Unbeknownst to festivalgoers at the 1893 Chicago World Fair, there was a mass murderer in their midst. For several years before and during the exposition, Dr. Henry Howard Holmes was busily luring victims (including a number of fairgoers) to a three-story, block-long building called the “Castle,” where they were tortured, mutilated and killed. Although H. H. Holmes’ heinous crimes weren’t discovered until after the fair ended, it’s believed that he was responsible for dozens of deaths in Chicago.

handwritng analysis between Jack the Ripper, and HH Holmes...

Murder Castle

I have been watching some youtube videos about Jack the Ripper, and Americas first and most prolific serial killer, H.H. Holmes...theories have been raised that they are the same person. I've always been fascinated by serial killers. Not their crimes, they're generally brutal and off putting, but what makes them tick? Why do they do what they do?

H.H. Holmes 3x great grandson, Jeff Mudgett, has made an excellent case that his great, great, great grandfather was, indeed, the same person as Jack the Ripper. What do you think? Do serial killers fascinate you?

Maybe we can talk about other evil people besides Trump for a change....

Disneyland opened in 1955, so that doesn't match up. I've been to Paris, Texas, but not Paris, France.

Disneyland? That's in the OC dude! I grew up in the shadow of the Big A and the Matterhorn. Far from Hollywood, thank goodness

Quote by Meggsy
PARIS every time - Hollywood is just a branch of Disneyland in my opinion.

Ugh...that stabs me in my heart, oh woe is me....no, no, Disneyland is in Southern California, but that's about the only comparison. Like comparing jellyfish to Big Foot...(ok, that was the best I could think of, lol!)

Ok, 32 miles away, but an hour in traffic...Orange County is more hoity toity than Hollywood...don't let the 'movie culture' fool ya....
