Serious congrats to CTUMWMOMNCFW (Curvy The Unquenchable Mod Who May Or May Not Come From Wales)!!!

Godzilla approves!

Hey Rump! I echo Curvy's Ta on the set-uo!

How are you Suzie? Hey, Scott!

Ping, I don't know who Ana is. We made noises about seeing Knives Out this weekend, but ended up being extremely lazy. With Christmas prep almost entirely done, we deserve some laziness.

Saw Marriage Story this weekend. Really good. Amazing cast, especially the three lawyers: Laura Dern (yum!), Ray Liotta, and Alan Alda. Adam Driver is really good in it too. Even Scarlett is good in it, and I'm not s big fan of hers.

Yoingest's birthday today. 17. Whew, how time flies.

Köffee please.

Evening all. We are still snowed in here in Colorado and getting cabin fever. Hope everyone is having a great weekend. How about something to take the edge off?

We're in the headlights of that storm, though nothing much has happened yet. One of my favorite things about Colorado is the storms, both snowstorms and thunderstorms. So dramatic! Say hi to Tony, he popped his head in here for the first time yesterday!

Finished the Christmas lights today. My Christmas prep is nearly finished, except for all the cooking. I deserve a reward for that, don't I?

Two fingers of Knob Creek, beer back.

I'm buying, if anybody is drinking.

I’ll take Verbs Koffee again please. He left it on the bar after he ran out screaming, realizing that he’s been masturbating to a Canadian dude for years. Deadpool a cross dresser? Now you know.

The only Canadian Dude I masturbate to is you, you Magnificent Bastard.
Ping, are you bringing this up because your parents named you Ping and it sounds like a sound effect from a cartoon, so you blame them for in effect turning you into a walking, living, breating cartoon?

Whew. Long sentence.
She put down her knife! Also, she's down to earth and well spoken, and an excellent writer!

Nothing for me, thanks. I snagged Verb's Köffee when he was scribbling his mass oceanic drowning.

Could I have armed guards (i.e. Terrence the Tarantula and/or Taser Sprite) escort my köffee to me to avoid this kind of theivery in the future?

Thanks for all the set-ups and donuts and cookies and such over the course of the year, Curvy and Tonya and Fuzz and the now knifeless TG! Even if it doesn't always get to me.

Date night tonight, with no big plans, other than a new Mexican restaurant called Happy Belly Tacos. It looks deeply tasty. LJ got an excellent performance review at work, so we will be celebrating that.

The "mass oceanic drowning" story has a deadline of Jan 31, and the collected stories for Serious Moonlight come out Valentine's Day 2020, so my writing dance card is a bit filled up. Feeling like a working writer, except for the lack of a big paycheck for it. I love deadlines. They force me to write.

Happy Friday all!
So, I wrote my story, Beneath, for the Change competition. The point of the contest was to write in one of the new categories Lush had added, and this was in the then-new Monster Sex category. I'd been thinking about writing a tentacle sex story for months, so it was mostly a matter of jotting down what was already in my head. I won the comp with it. It's my second favorite story I ever wrote for Lush (Serious Moonlight will probably always be my fave).

Anyway, it's 264 votes away from being famous. Give it a read, or at least give it a click, and push me over the top! It's got monsters, it's got public masturbation, it's got triple penetration! It straddles the sexy/creepy line pretty well, I think. I tried to make the hot parts genuinely hot, and the scary parts genuinely scary.

I'm surprised a tentacle sex story would go famous, but I ain't complaining!

It's linked in my sig line, but here it is again.

Is there one easy place to see all your views, or do you need to pull out a calculator?
Hi to everyone!

TG, your treats sound delightful! Very sorry about your friend.

Simmie, so sorry to hear about Jax, and about your continuing health woes. Godspeed. It's a hard time of year to have to go through all that. There is so much else to do!

Tonya, you deserve a metal for taking care of so many in your life. I have done a lot of caretaking in my life as well. I suspect people seek you out because you are good at it. Enjoy littley's concert. My suggestion: DON'T video it on your phone, no one will look at it anyway. Just watch her, cherish the moment, create the memory for both you and her. I think video really distacts and detracts from moments like these. My two cents of parenting wisdom.

Work is BUSY these days. Not supposed to be like that at Christmas. Sigh.

My youngest has therapy this afternoon, and all I can think is that, during the session, I have a full hour to write, uninterrupted, in the waiting room. My story ends with several thousand people voluntarily walking into the ocean to drown. Fun! I'm full of the Christmas spirit!

Beneath needs fewer than 250 views to go Famous!

Köffee please.

Mrs. Fletcher on Netflix can so relate to this show! Thx Verbal for recommending it

Anytime, Bria. smile

Working my way through Atypical, trying to catch up to where LJ`s at so we can watch it together. Good show.

Also: 11/22/63, a mini-series based on the Stephen King book. It's really good.
A hubcap coming off our car and rolling across the road as we were driving. It was cool!

What is your fondest memory?
I'd second the two names that keep popping up, Rumple and CurvyGalore (aka Curvy the Unquenchable), for their always helpful support and their whip-smart writing and editing skills, as well as the drama-free good vibes they spread around the site. Both have helped me out with suggestions and ideas and constructive critisism, and I've seen them both help out countless others.
Here's mine. It's from that Peanuts Christmas special. Pretty representative of both my and LJs dancing styles as well. smile

Want to go with me to spy on Rach and TG?

I'm THERE! We'll call spying on them #10. You bring the weed, I'll bring my binoculars.

Me too. He just gets film. Super 8 was fab, and I loved Cloverfield, even though he didn't direct.

I LOVED Super 8. Seen it 4-5 times now. Cloverfield deserves a little more love than it got too.

BTW, just saw Last Jedi again. Good flick. Psyched to see the last movie of the saga.

The mini series is AWESOME! I haven't read the book yet but it's on my book list. I've watched it twice.

Watched two more episodes. It's really good. Though my Dad keeps pointing out that nearly every car in it is a 57 Ford.

Long day, though things seem to be falling out fine. Tired. Writing two short stories, both horror. Missing baseball season. Eating up the details of the impeachment inquiry. I usually have the hearings or the news on the radio in the background while I work.

Annie, I've seen pix from Sydney on the net today, and it looks apocalyptic! Scary. My thoughts are with you.

Thanks for the donuts, Fuzz!

Here's my obligatory Kate Beckinsale picture, from her glorious feed. Check out her caption. Cavity search!

Ice water please.

EDIT: Only 256 views until Beneath is a famous story!

Joan Didion said "Grammar is a piano I play by ear" and I love that quote - I don't know most of the rules, but I get most of them right anyway (I still have blind spots, like when to use "lay/lie").

I think most of us here, and most of the writers I know, DON'T have a grasp of the technical minutia involved. We just instinctively know, without ever knowing why we know. We don't really need to know the why.
Impeachment hearings, like I do nearly every day lately.

Good morning, all y'all! It's been a crazy few days and it definitely feels like a Monday. Hope all who have been ailing are on the mend, all who are in the cold weather are staying warm, and all who are busy writing stories for the competition are having better luck than I am. I'm still trying to whittle my story down from the original 5500 words to the 4000 word limit. LOL. I think I am almost there...down to 4500 at least.

My pregnant daughter is doing okay for now, thanks to all who inquired. She continues to struggle with anxiety, but Mama Bear worked with her on some strategies this weekend. (I also enlisted the aid of my other two kids to be in contact with her more often). It takes a village, indeed!

Tea with lemon sounds delightful. Thanks, Curvy!

Good luck with your story, and good job at Mama Bear-ing your daughter. Pregnancy has got to be a tough, even without the anxiety. My best wishes.

TravellingMan, I'll attempt to get to that book! Not reading a lot of erotica these days, but I will make an exception!

Slow Monday morning, which is fine with me.

We saw a great seasonal-ish movie this weekend, Home for the Holidays. From 1995, on Amazon Prime. Funny and sweet, with great performances all around, particularly from a radiant Holly Hunter and a very young Robert Downey Jr. (who'll I'll admit having a bit of a man-crush on). Worth checking out.

Also started a Stephen King mini-series: 11/22/63, on Hulu. I enjoyed the book. Watching it with my Dad, who is feeding me historical minutia as we watch.

Thanks for the set-up, Curvy U. Galore. I'll have a köffee.

Haven’t been around for awhile, been sick and in the hospital. Came home yesterday to the news of our dog being taken off by a coyote. The coyote jumped our 6ft. Fence, killed poor Jax and took him away. Milik and I are so sad. Our other two are very traumatized by it. They were out there when it happened. They dont want to go out side at all. So very sad in our house right now. Coming home from the hospital was a very silent ride and walking in here not being met by Jax broke my heart.

Have pneumonia so doing breathing treatment every 6 hours, which is killing my blood sugar(running really high) and on two antibiotics. Go back to the dr. In a week. Hopefully it’ will be gone.

Hope everyone is doing well and busy getting ready for the holidays.

Hope the rain in California will stop, haven’t had a chance to get the decorations up out side with everything that is goin on. So hopefully tomorrow since Milik is working today.

Can I get some Hot tea please with a bit of honey to soothe the throat . Have a great Saturday Evening everyone..

So sorry to hear of your bad luck one-two punch with sickness and pets. Godspeed. Our thoughts are with you.

Hey, Traveling Man, you mention writing new chapters from time to time. Novel? A travel book? Erotica?

Lazy Sunday here. About to go out to breakfast. Bought and decorated a Christmas tree last night, with LJ and my Dad and both my daughters. It was fun and sweet. Still gotta put up the outside lights, but those are pretty lowkey.

My youngest daughter just started her first job, and it is kicking her ass. Driving her to work is kicking my ass.

Two coffees please, for LJ and me.

I'm barking! You missed me! No hug emojis or anything. sad

Thanks for the setup, Unquenchable C and Tonya.

Hey Suzie, hey Tange, long time no see for both of you! May I buy either of you a cup of coffee or tea?

As for that mixed metaphor thing (I'm too lazy to quote it), you are right, Ping, and I am wrong. I hate that. I think you used two metaphors in one sentence, but you didn't mix them up. It's not a mixed metaphor, it's multiple metaphors.

Date night! Don't know what we're gonna do yet.

Köffee please.
