There is no question that it can be addictive. Like most things though it depends on how it is handled. Alcohol is a typical example. Most people can have a drink and enjoy themselves with it but for some it becomes an addiction.

I think men are particularly vulnerable to porn addiction because they are very easily aroused by porn and find it more difficult to divorce the reality from the fantasy. The danger is that it can, sadly, pollute love and portray women as objects of sexual gratification. In extreme cases it can drive men to and other kinds of illegal sex.

BelleduJour's case is a very sad one but also one that is bigger then we think. What the answer is I do not know. Sex is part of life and pornogrpahy has been around from the outset of human life. Banning it will only drive it underground as well. Perhaps the only solution would be greater education. Porn can be an enjoyable accompliment to a relationship just as wine compliments a nice meal. It just a case of getting things into perspective.

Frankly, I never pay attention to health scare stories. Not a week goes by without some so called expert or group giving out warnings that this or that is bad for you. If they are to be believed the human race would have died out years ago. The truth is we are living longer and healthier despite all these so called bad dietary foods and drinks that we consume. The problem mankind has is how to cope with an ageing population. What is really bad for you is believing what these killjoys are saying. If it was left to them we would be left to eat a few lettuce leaves every day with a couple of glasses of water for refreshment. How dreadful life would be!

Everything that is edible is good for you when taken in moderation.

Just heard the news myself. Maybe he isn't up to the job, I don't know know and don't care. What concerns me is that the Pope (Titularly) heads a corrupt organisation that has wielded abusive power for centuries. Without intending to offend any Catholic viewers one just has to stand back and look objectively at the sexual scandals uncovered. Not to mention either that the Vatican sits on vast amounts of wealth while the majority of countries that they wield power in are among the poorest on the planet. Then of course there is their stance on birth control bringing untold misery on families and nations struggling to provide food and welfare for their peoples. As for their heretical theology...................well I will leave that for others to debate upon.

The sad thing about his resignation is that someone else will take over the reigns and perpetuate the lie.

Thanks for the heads up on that. Perhaps you (or others here) could give the members some pointers as to the best anti-virus software to deal with malware like this. I use malwarebytes among others and for those that get through Rkill is good at getting rid of them
