It has been a hard strange time. My mom got sick too but is thankfully doing better for now. She's an amazing woman and has survived a lot. Not being able to see my parents is so hard. My dad calls asking me why I have abandoned them. With his issues, it's hard to explain. The uncertainty compounds everything. At least I can drop off things for them at the main gate so I try to find things that they will enjoy or at least distract them and fill the time. All their activities at their retirement community have been canceled for weeks.

I am still trying to figure out why some things I can find at the store but not others. Toilet paper has been slowly returning. Costco regularity has it in stock. Still no bleach, Lysol, and disinfecting wipes. No yeast either. I ended up mailing my oldest son TP since they can't find it anywhere and he mailed me yeast since they can find it everywhere. They can find bleach and cleaning supplies where they live, only a few hours south of me. Around here ice cream seems to be in short supply. That's not okay. There are no popsicles or any kind of frozen treat. Not sure what's going on with that. If I am going to be depressed at home I'd like to bury my feelings in a pint of ice cream.

I hope everyone has a good weekend. I assume it's the weekend, it's hard to tell these days.

I'll have ginger ale and then tackle my pantry to see what I can use up next.

Just got back from a rigorous beach walk. There is a nest of Black Skimmers just a little ways south of us. They seem earlier this year, but maybe I'm just getting forgetful. Anyway, they are a nice contrast to the plethora of seagulls.
