Interesting topic. I think I once tried too hard to impress a girl back when I was a teenager. After my failed attempt I quickly decided to ditch the trying too hard approach. In fact, I kinda stopped making any obvious moves towards women. Thinking back to the women I've been with I kinda let them take the first step.
Even at parties I'm often just goofing off with no intention of impressing any women. But there's always 1 or 2 women who pick up the challenge and we hit it off. Often it doesn't lead to anything, the women are already married/engaged, have a bf or are just not interested in anything more than friendship. But it's good fun when you can goof off mixed with some nice measure of flirting.
Milan Kundera once wrote something like: it's not the consumption of the conquest that we thrive on, it's the success of actually conquering someone. I guess this fits in nicely with me being fine with just finding someone who picks up the challenge of conversing with me and having a great time together, regardless how long it lasts or whether it leads to anything.

It's similar to how things with hornybunny74 started. We chatted and I was my usual painter self (charming/annoying/arrogant/funny/etc.). After the first chat session she said she really liked me which I openly doubted by saying she didn't even know me so how could she already have decided to really like me. Good thing she kept at it and proved repeatedly how much she likes me.
The way I chat with her is similar to how I chat with any other woman really. There's no point in trying too hard or pretending to be something else than yourself so I always find out soon enough whether someone is really interested in me or whether I'm too much to handle.
tommie just has a thing for Asian girls van

But yeah, I'm bloody nervous already. Game time in 6 hours 18 minutes.
The Germans also have a good sense of humor:

It says "Goodbye Maradona" lol.

And I found the following emoticon:
Classic movie for people who grew up in the 1980s. Been aeons since I last saw it so can't say much, again.
Dan Brown's books are perfect backpacking literature. Bought and read 4 of his books back in 2005 while traveling in Australia and New-Zealand.
I guess it's like with movies and music. If you know what to expect and are fine with some popcorn entertainment then you'll enjoy them just fine. If you're expecting some deep intellectual life-changing reading/watching/listening experience then it's best to look elsewhere.
All 4 remaining games will be played at 20:30 CET.

But obviously only the number one spot matters. My fellow Dutchies have only played the final game twice (1974 and 1978) and lost both times. We got to the semi-finals in 1998 and lost to Brazil on penalty kicks.
So, if we manage to beat Uruguay on Tuesday it will be the first time in 32 (!!!) years that we will actually play the final.
Fingers crossed!
I just watched the following brilliant movie which pretty much had everything I love in the cinematic artform:

I'm sure it will be considered too slow/boring/vague/pretentious by the grey masses.
Anyone seen felix? Maybe he smoked too many bowls after the Dutch killed Brazil?
Germany is up against Spain now rocco. Not exactly an easy opponent lol.
This game can go either way really. I think the team that draws first blood will win it.

The other semi-final is my Dutchies vs Uruguay. Uruguay will play defensive like Paraguay and hope to score on a counter attack. Going to be another tough game. I hope my Dutchies pull through.

And as I wrote earlier:
For football lovers a World Cup final between The Netherlands and Germany would be the best. NL versus Spain would be the 2nd best thing.

hb74 doesn't want to share me!
Fun indeed Van! Just make sure not to root against my fellow Dutchies!
Well well, Argentina finally faced a serious opponent and got their asses kicked.
Germany won deservedly, as I expected.

Let's hope Spain annihilates Paraguay tonight!

I don't like mud, can we wrestle in hot melted chocolate lol mmmmmmmmmm then I can lick it off She and Painter's body hmmmmmmmmm and all my Lush friends yum

Melted chocolate is fine with me.

I'll have to consult hornybunny74 about you being allowed to lick it off of my body.
I pick Germany and Spain.

For football lovers a World Cup final between The Netherlands and Germany would be the best. NL versus Spain would be the 2nd best thing.

The reason I don't pick Argentina is because they haven't shown much team spirit so far. It's a bunch of individualists and even though they've got some excellent players I much prefer seeing a whole team fighting for each other.
Besides, if Germany is in good form like they were against England then Argentina will have a very tough job. Especially Heinze.

ah painter, why do you got to be so negative?

Because I think it's a waste of money and time to make and watch average movies. I fully understand most people just want to be entertained when going to the movies. That's fine, even I like to be entertained every once in a while. But Hollywood has turned into a stale industry which ran out of ideas and the current remake wave isn't going to stop anytime soon.
As a movie lover this just saddens me and is the source of my negativity.

Btw, anyone seen the new "Toy Story" yet? I've heard good things about it so kinda excited about it. Pixar can do no wrong imo!

Two movies that I saw recently was A-team and The Karate Kid. A-team was full of actions but they also had some jokes that made the whole audience laugh. Really good movie in my opinion. The Karate Kid was even better. The kind of movie everyone could enjoy.

I haven't seen "The A-Team" movie but since both are remakes from 1980s stuff I'll have to comment. Mr-T and Dirk Benedict already complained about how much the movie the original tv series so nuff said.
I just watched "The karate kid" remake and although it's fairly slick it's an average Hollywood product. If you like cheap entertainment then by all means watch it. If you're hoping it can stand the comparison with the original then don't get your hopes up. I like Jackie Chan but the enigmatic click between him and his pupil wasn't as good or as strong as Pat Morita and his pupil.
Do I need to comment on Jaden Smith? This is exactly what's wrong with Hollywood. Let's shove a famous actor's kid down the audience's throats, they won't mind!

For me the biggest disappointment of this remake is the fact that his enemies aren't as bad ass as those Kobra Kai dudes in the original. I'm sure those awesome cheesy lines like "Sweep the leg!" and "Put him in a bodybag!" are just not appropriate to use in this day and age but they helped make the original so brilliant.

Of course I'm not objective since I grew up in the 1980s but when stale remakes of golden oldies are pumped out just to make $$$ then I simply have to speak up.

The Last Airbender.

From what I've read on rottentomatoes and imdb this is a most horrendous reinterpretation of the animated TV-series. The fans are unanimously disappointed.
Good luck enjoying it!
That's why he needs to grow some balls and say no to all these type casting roles. Johnny Depp did that, he rejected some typical Hollywood roles early on after he got known with "21 Jump Street". Look where it got him.
Others like Joseph Gordon-Levitt and Ryan Gosling also grew (or already had) balls and made some excellent choices.

It's easy. Either go for the instant gratification roles or actually try to become a better actor.

And you know I love shit movies too. Just shit movies that actually try to add a little bit to the rehashed formula or that do a good job at selling the formula as reasonably fresh.
I hope Dancing_Doll will one day encounter an ant eater and see the error of her ways.
