Sometimes it only takes the simple
few seconds your eyes hold mine, 
I know there are messages, 
trails I built for you.

Carving entirely new pathways, 
travel along each one until reaching 
the places I've let few 
hold the keys and links to.

Once you arrive there, 
you're at home, 
chain those links together,
let each one coil around you and I.

Nestle yourself in the walls, 
let your voice take up all
the lonely spaces I never knew 
were so hollow until making it 
through one night without 
the intricate melody flowing out of you.

Sometimes it only takes the brief removal 
of your hand from mine, 
I know it's only one of the countless things
about us that fit together perfectly.

Anything lacking around me
was built that way on purpose, 
paved as desolate roads 
waiting for your travels.

Once I am there to meet you, 
we'll go home and peel off these clothes, 
soaked from storms battering the earth, 
shooting unstable lights across the sky.

Sometimes it only takes your 
bare frame and tangled hair, 
I can inhale the scents, 
perfume from your skin, 
the rain clinging to each wet lock.

Trying like invisible wires to pull me to you, 
trailing my hands and mouth along 
pathways only meant to be unearthed by me, 
the places you let me hold the keys and links to.

Once we arrive here, 
any room we share is home, 
chain those links together, 
let our bodies coil around one another.

I can take up all the lonely spaces, 
never knowing you ached so much for me, 
until this intricate raw dance begins, 
our longing forms begins tangling
when I am inside you. 

Sometimes it's the best way to
remember we're already home.
