If you are a nerdy (like me) and like A.I art (also like me), go check out my edits to see my progress!
>This is my AI Artwork album<

I have been doing this for a few months now. It is difficult to start with, and time consuming, but once you get a flow and work out how to use it, you will learn quickly. Just be VERY patient when you are doing hands (lord knows why they are so tough).

I find it very theraputic (when I get it right)

Generate an Avatar (lots of apps), run it through an AI engine to create a scene/topic and then edit in editor software/applications.

Of course, you can use normal selfies, but they are less fun, less colourful and just don't blend into the AI scene as well.

The AI engines I use are a combination of;
PlaygroundAI
Mid-Journey
LeonardoAI

Image editors I use are;
Lightroom (first)
Photoshop (second)

good luck to AI for doing my job. heh. fucking melt the entire system if it tried. fyi, i am getting really drunk tonight, once i get home. fucking world.

You can’t truly call yourself peaceful unless you are capable of violence. If you’re not capable of violence, you’re not peaceful. You’re harmless.

I'd gladly let it take certain aspects of my job.

AI wont affect the creative content. It optimises the processes quicker enabling the user to be creative whilst AI does all the mundane tasks -

I love illustrator / photoshop / lightroom

No, I think art and lit will just change to accommodate it. You can’t kill art. I DO think it will destroy a number of jobs. It will create a few too. It’s technology - every time we get new tech people warn the sky will fall. It never does.

Nice work with the AI Georgia. It’s astonishing how good, and how realistic, they (and you) are getting.

AI artwork is atrocious but it won't destroy art, actual art and most definitely not literature.

Will A.I. take jobs? Yes. Will A.I. destroy creativity? No. Microsoft word was going to get rid of secretaries, photoshop was going to get rid of graphic designers and calculators were going to get rid of mathematicians. A.I. is a tool and while it produces some cool looking stuff it doesn’t create anything. It gathers stuff that already exists and merges them together. Sure it makes pretty pictures but it’s not creating something new. Even those pictures are being manipulated and created by an artist using prompts, refining etc etc. As a creative I’m not worried about A.I. but it will take jobs because people will get A.I. to do something that isn’t art but is “good enough” for their brochure or instagram post or whatever. People that like shiny photorealistic stuff that’s almost real will take it cos it’s cheaper than a real photographer or artist but they are the same people who think that just because they can right click on an image on the internet and click Save as means they can use it so there is always going to be those who use it, ethical or not

2 competition winning stories, 1 Famous story, a smattering of Editor's Picks, a handful of Recommended Reads and one Clitorides award are scattered amongst my stories.

Just don't ask AI to create a picture of two people shaking hands at the moment.

Please browse my digital bookshelf. In this collection, you can find 101 stories, nine micro-stories, and two poems with the following features:

Pretty much anything with hands. I find from trying to generate covers for fantasy stories that getting them to create an image of a person holding a sword tends to generate some odd notions of how one holds one.

Pretty much the way I see it too. If anything, the need to properly manage AI is going to create a whole class of new jobs. A lot of what generative AI does is "good enough" for many purposes, but still needs to be curated by humans. So many of the static outline-structure webpages I run into when I ask questions of my search engine ("Does this car have feature 'X'?" or "What is there to do in Timbuktu?") are just garbage, full of bloated, wasted boilerplate and - I swear - an increasing number of factual errors. Even ChatGPT itself doesn't seem to be improving in the quality of its answers, and still hasn't figured out how to identify the operative word in my question that makes it different from other, similar questions it has been asked. As has been proven to be happening with spell checkers, I'm starting to wonder if the quality of genAI output as a whole may actually be declining with time.

I don't know if that's true of photo-generating AI, which I am interested in eventually using to create Lush story covers, at least once the images get less creepy in the eyes and less sheeny on the skin. As long as the images are based on composite faces and not individual humans, I think that will be less problematic than scraping images of real humans from free Internet porn, as I currently do.

Now if only genAI could create images with realistic pubic hair, which I so dearly love ... I suspect I'm going to be waiting a while for that capability.

Photoshop it in!

Hair in general is my favourite way to take a lifeless object and put some humanity on it.

Learning to create and edit hair is more frustrating than waiting for AI to get hands right, but it is the most rewarding image editing skill you will ever master!!

Yeah. This is especially true in the retail sector. Product descriptions are copied from site to site or taken from an incorrect datasheet and amplified on every seller site.

Think of how much global energy would be saved if we could delete all the duplicate content from the web. The internet would probably all fit on a floppy disk.

Now if only genAI could create images with realistic pubic hair

Amen to that. I tried today as I was making a story cover and this was the closest it got to "a full thatch of dark pubic hair":

And try adding ‘small breasts’ in an AI bot! Really?! It’s enough to give me an inferiority complex. 🤣X

Haha yeah. Tried that as well. The engines' definition of small and mine differ by approximately 4 cup sizes.

Here's one I didn't end up using for a possible forthcoming gym story. It was close, but the dodgy eye and the fact she was using a different machine to the one I asked for (to match the story) meant that it was relegated to the bin. Still a good image though.

Yeah, eyes often seem to be another weakness of many models, eh. I think for realistic stories, stock art is probably still better, but AI is nice for fantasy, which is harder to find good matching stock art for.

Agreed. Can't justify the expenditure though on something I don't get paid for.

Same reason I bought the Affinity suite instead of Adobe. I do occasional publishing work and occasional photo/design work, which doesn't justify the, comparatively exorbitant for my needs, Adobe CC subscription model.

WW - Thats a really good bit of AI work, minus the eyes and the hand morphed into the waist.

The eyes are always tricky to fix in any image editing software, it's usually easier to find eyes at the same angle on another image and touch them in. That hand would have been easier to edit and make it look like it's on the front of the waist, rather than morphed into it.

What AI engines do you use?

Yeah. I can't be bothered editing the pics, beyond adding the story titles, so I just keep tweaking the inputs and hitting Generate until something decent crops up. It's so annoying when it spews out the perfect shot except the model is cross-eyed, or their hand is part of the furniture, or they have 9 fingers on one hand, that all look like prawn stir fry.

My current main squeeze is sexy.ai because it's the only freely(ish) available service that accepts a freeform text prompt. But some of its engines are really limited. They seem to have only been trained on a handful of images so they all tend to come out with the same features, regardless if you ask for a particular age range or item of clothing or nose shape or breast size or no makeup or, heaven forbid, that the model actually has hips/a tummy. The best ones seem to be Natural Sin and any of the Realistic Vision ones, though they've gone downhill a bit recently and lean towards the slightly less realistic end of the spectrum (so they can charge for the premium versions that do ultra realistic cinematic content).

You also have to be very specific on colour. If you say "green eyes" and don't specify any other colours, they'll get green clothing too, and green flashes on scenery or green highlights in their hair. It's a bit annoying to have to be so prescriptive sometimes.
