Dear Auntie Olive,
I really fancy a cheese and chutney sandwich but I only have one jar of Branston pickle and it's sell by date is December 2019. It smells fine and I dipped in my finger and had a little lick and it tastes fine. Is it okay to put on my cheese buttie?
A quickish answer would be appreciated as I want it soon or I'll have bad dreams.
Thank you
D x

Dear Goddess, tell me you didn't eat that stuff that far out of date.
I'd be awfully worried if you did.

When was Danielle last online? I'm starting to get worried...
Mind you, a couple of years ago I found a jar of my dad's home-made chutney in my cupboard that was over five years old. I ate it without any ill effects, and I imagine Branston has a lot more preservatives in it.

Well, okay. I read this and had to try this Brandon Relish thing. Having it now on my own sourdough with some Two Girl Cows aged cheddar. Most excellent. Got a new evening nosh for sure.
It's BRANSTON, effing spellcheck!
Goes lovely with mashed Cali avocado on toast
My fav is with it spread thickly with melted cheese on buttered toast ?
