Old school alert ! I grew up watching Doctor Who in the Pertwee Era 1970 -1974 - Jon Pertwee, Katy Manning, Roger Delgado and UNIT. That remains my favourite of the shows many eras. Of course I think it's wonderful that the show is still going and I'm still a fan.

Love Is Blind | Lush Stories - A poem of love and pain...

I've seen some of the Classic Who, but I got into the fandom while Matt Smith was the Doctor. I was able to watch most of Eccleston-Smith, trying to find all the Classic Who I can, but I have to say MY Doctor, personally, is Peter Capaldi. Though I am definitely curious to see what Jodie can do with it.

Me, too, though I didn't see them until the late seventies (when Doctor Who finally crossed The Pond). Jon remains my favorite Doctor (with his successor, Tom Baker, a very, very close second), Katy is in a tie with the late Elizabeth Sladen (Sarah Jane Smith) for favorite companion, and Delgado defined The Master and should be the standard by which all subsequent portrayals are measured.

As for "New Who", I have watched all of Chris Eccleston and the first two (or three? when did Martha join?) seasons of David Tennant. Love both portrayals, but not enough to bump Jon and Tom off the top of my list. Favorite new companion is Freema Agyeman as Martha Jones.
