Is it streaming somewhere where North Americans can see it? Years ago, on another board, I was ROTFL because of a "Let's Watch Eurovision" thread that a bunch of European members were running. Their commentary was hilarious but I couldn't actually see what they were talking about until the stuff started going up on Youtube.
Oh not sure. It is a very European thing. It's actually not taken seriously at all in the UK but European people enjoy the whole thing and make a party of it.
Part of the fun is that all the countries vote for their neighbours, but the really good songs always come through. I think UK might actually try not to win, because it costs a lot to host and we're kind of broke already. Although we did the Olympics so maybe we could pull it off. My Mum and Dad used to watch it but they don't bother any more. I think it's mainly a young person's event.
I'll try to find out if it's streamed an send you the link

I watched a little yesterday. It seemed okay.
I watched and it was fabulous (mostly). Although so many of the ballads seemed to be James Bond-theme inspired, including the Austrian number that won. But good for her, she was gorgeous and very distinctive. The Boyband from Belarus really made me giggle!
The Poland one was quite something...
I was at work so I only saw parts of it...
Did Austria win because it was the best song, or because the performer was a drag?
I personally would have voted for Holland.
