At The Top Of My Head I Can Only Think Of Two Right Now. Sydney Pollack And Clint Eastwood!
Michael Caine. I believe he was a machine gunner who fought in Korea.

And I'm loathed to say it, but Elvis Presley.

Man, now I'm racking my brain. Good one.
My latest story is a racy little piece about what happens when someone cute from work invites you over to watch Netflix and Chill.
Robert Mitchum, Elvis, Ali...
He's a writer/director rather than an actor, but Oliver Stone served in Vietnam before starting his film career (and incorporated elements of that experience into Platoon).

The late Dennis Farina served 3 years in the Army before becoming a cop and, later, an actor.
Leonard Rossiter, Sean Connery, David Niven, Ross Kemp, Alec Guinness ..

look here

Don't forget to sat 'Hi'

Lou Diamond Phillips. No he did not serve in the military, but his father was a Marine and named his son after Lou Diamond, a legendary Marine that served in both WWI and WWII. Lou Diamond fought in the battle for Guadalcanal when he was in his 50's!

Audie Murphy

He was one of the most decorated American combat soldiers of WW2.

Alec Guinness
Kirk Douglas

Yes, Audie Murphy, turned down by the US Marine Corp, then successfully joined the US Army, where he became the most decorated American soldier in history. He actually rose from private to being an officer, very rare without having gone to college, because of unbelievably brave and heroic combat actions. Audie Murphy was such a hero in WW II, he became a household name. He received the US Medal of Honor as well as many other medals, including medals from France and Belgium.

After the war, because of his fame, he was able to parlay that into a successful movie acting career. He plays himself in the WW II movie, To Hell And Back.

Sadly, he died too young in a plane crash. But before that, he'd suffered greatly from post-traumatic=stress syndrome as a result of his war experiences.

Many of the old time stars served after being drafted.

Jimmy Stewart was one.

I know there were others but I can't remember them all right now.

Jimmy Stewart, an Academy Award winning actor, and star of the ever popular movies, It's A Wonderful Life, and Who Shot Liberty Valance, had one of the greatest movie acting careers in history.

During WW II he became a B-17 bomber pilot and flew his full complement of missions, and was highly decorated. After the war, he stayed active by joining the US Air Force Reserves and rose to the rank of Brigadier General.
