It Happened on 5th Avenue + It's a Wonderful Life THEN a dvd called "A Victorian Christmas" all in one day*
"The girl on the train"

Loved it the first time, even better the second

Actually, I read that the Sami (the correct name, BTW) were consulted for Frozen 2. It's the original Frozen that was problematic on that front.

Haven't seen any movies recently but have a long list.

Don’t fucking correct me motherfucker. I know what the right name is, it’s the rest of these pieces of shit that don’t know anything so you need to nursery rhyme it to them. Don’t insult me like that again.

Such a violent outburst. Maybe you need to sit in the corner for another mandatory time out.

Next time, use the correct word if you don’t want to be corrected.

We tolerate you, but only so much. This outburst of yours is unwarranted and unacceptable.
"Rocketman". Good film, well presented and acted. Mind you there is a major factual error in it...the "John" part of Elton John's name was NOT inspired by John Lennon...it was inspired by Long John Baldry. Just the pedant in me coming out.

I’ve not yet seen the movie, but holy crap! How’d they miss that one?
I'm going to be watching - The Irishman - Saturday evening. Netflix just started streaming it today. I don't care how unrealistic it is. I want 3 brutal hours of Scorsese/Pesci/DeNiro/Pacino

I think Sir Elton actually okay'd it but I forget what the plot rationale was.

Well, with The Irishman being 3 1/2 hours, I needed a few breaks. This seemed like a legacy film for the gang. One last time to make another gangster movie together. Ray Liotta was conspicuously missing. I didn't think the CG-age treatment was that big a deal. Seeing a septuagenarian trying to pass for a 'boy' was silly, as was it when he shit kicked the grocery store owner. But it all didn't matter. It was hard not to have attachment to all the actors and the story. Based on the book about Frank and what he says happened with Hoffa. Even though the story dragged at times, especially at the end, it was never boring because there was always a sense of tension. Not Scorsese's best, they all can't be, but still a terrific viewing experience.

Jimmy Stewart was great for the thriller Hitchcock movies, including Rear Window. But again, the treatment and portrayal of women was difficult to stomach at times. This was a great premise - international photographer breaks leg, and in an apartment complex, one in which he can see most of all of the other tenants from his window to theirs, he spies on everyone while being confined to the wheelchair. Grace Kelly was not needed. Any female actor could have done what she did, but glad she was part of this show. Growing to enjoy her as much as I've grown to love Humphrey Bogart. The ending was goofy. Why, Ironside, Why? Why would you do that??? This is a must watch of Hitchcock's.

Also tried to watch Citizen Kane again. I understand the epic contributions Welles et al did with cinematography, etc. but I still don't like the movie. I preferred the 1943 version of Jane Eyre much more. Glad CK was, after almost fifty years, replaced at the top of the list by Vertigo. I read an interesting article that broke down the top 100 movies according to the age of those participating in the survey. No surprise CK is not at the top or even in the top ten of many. There have been so many great movies made since then. Tough to argue a movie like The Godfather not being near or at the top.

Also tried to watch another older Hitchcock movie, but just couldn't get through it. The Lady Vanishes. It didn't hold my attention.

Really, really looking forward to watching Knives Out. In theaters now.

Also looking forward to Dark Passage, another Bogey movie queued to record in a week or so.

I tried this a few nights ago and after a half hour or so thought, I've seen this all before, I don't have 3 more hours of this in me. I still enjoyed his filmmaking bravado, but not enough to overcome my boredom.

I LOVE THIS MOVIE! Grace doesn't do much but she is so effortlessly glamorous while not doing much. Like all of Hitchcock's best movies, there is a vaguely sexual creepiness about the premise that kinda hangs over the entire movie.

We saw two good ones last night. Book Smart, in the "raunchy teen comedy" genre but with girl protagonists. Funny and even kinda sweet. Lisa Kudrow hasxa small part.

Also saw the 2015 Cinderella, directed by Kenneth Branagh, and with a terrific Cate Blanchett and Derek Jacobi (I met him once). I thought it would be too girly, and don't get me wrong, it was VERY girly, but I really enjoyed it. Even got a little choked up at the end. And Cinderella is CUTE!

Speaking of girly, if my back ever improves enough to allow me out if bed, Frozen 2 is on the horizon.

Knives Out. It's brilliant.

You can’t truly call yourself peaceful unless you are capable of violence. If you’re not capable of violence, you’re not peaceful. You’re harmless.

What are you talking about
Knives Out. Wonderfully entertaining. "From Ecuador... from Paraguay... from Uruguay... From Brazil". So funny.

This. I fell asleep.

===  Not ALL LIVES MATTER until BLACK LIVES MATTER  ===

The Bishop's Wife on TCM. Put me in the Christmas spirit.
Went to go see The Third Man in a revival theater.
Jurassic Park with my son, his first viewing. So much fun to watch him watch the movie. Fortunately, he’s not prone to nightmares, otherwise we would not have watched it. He no longer claims to be afraid of nothing.

Donnie Darko. It was on. I recorded it. Love it even more after this viewing.

Damn it. Still haven’t seen Knives Out. Glad so many are saying it’s good.

Darn insomnia. Watched this late last night. Not one of Bogie's best, but interesting how it preceded M.A.S.H. by almost twenty years. The look and feel, even the weak plot, felt like it could have been part of the newer movie or the TV series. Boozin', killin', and cavortin'. Not a recommended viewing, but it was interesting nonetheless.
I fell asleep to Take Me Home Tonight with Topher Grace and Teresa Palmer. Didn't finish it. I'll have to watch the ending tonight.
(Teresa is so f'n hot)

Yes she is.

There are some really great things to this movie, but it is also a little slow. I checked the clock a few times and that's not a good sign.

I have a new story out! Wish You Were Here A teasing sub may I have pushed too far, but the punishment is oh so sweet.

If you haven't already, please check out my story with leftlingula. A husband and wife rediscovered each other and It all started with one simple word...

Ugh, and Margot Robbie. They're both so beautiful it's painful.

I haven't seen this yet! And I love Tarantino. I have some catching up to do.
Saw that last night. I rather enjoyed the alternative ending.

Pitt nailed his role and had the best lines.

Tonight, another Pitt movie is loaded to watch - Ad Astra.
I've read some for & against reviews on it.
He's such a good actor, the movie could stink and he'd still be enjoyable to watch work.

Do you like him in Legends of the Fall? He is very hot in that one too.
