REAL story...

I came across RICHARD PRYOR albums while holidaying in New Jersey with relatives in the Early 80s... (I found I could do a STUNNING Pryor impersonation!!!) But GUESS WHAT???

It is NOT COOL to do RICHARD PRYOR impersonations in front of cute AMERICAN WHITE GIRLS whose names are RITTERSBACH and BRINSFELD and BERGSTORM!!! (The GIRLS loved it, MY FUCKING AUNT WENT NUTS!!!)

That was BEFORE I drove her CADILLAC EL DORADO into a tree... (But that is another story...)

(Kathy, Pamela and Mary Jane since you didn't ask... And OF COURSE I did!!!) And Elizabeth Hoag as well!!!

xx SF

have only seen him on tape, but for me, its Red Skelton....comedy with honor
Bernie Mac, hands down

Eddie Izzard, Chris Hardwick, Dave Chappell and Tracy Morgan

I have three famous stories, 2 recommended reads and have come in the top ten in two competitions~ Come in and make yourself at home.

George Carlin
Jo Koy
Jerrod Carmichael. he's funny, he's real, and a lot of his stuff is very uncomfortable.

You can’t truly call yourself peaceful unless you are capable of violence. If you’re not capable of violence, you’re not peaceful. You’re harmless.

I feel like it is always changing but if I could pick a several I would go with:

Mike Birbiglia
Jim Gaffigan
John Mulaney
Gabriel Iglesias
Chris Rock
Dave Chapelle
Bernie Mac
Russel Brand
Eddie Murphy

Hands down. Never had anyone make me laugh as hard as these guys.

Funniest male comic I ever saw in concert was Bill Cosby but I won't name him because.. well, you know...

I can’t think of a good tagline so this will have to do. Suggest a better one for me?

Becky is right - Red Skelton was incomparable!
The current crop aren't half the comedians Red was.

Other than him, Larry the Cable Guy, "Now that right there is funny"
Seinfeld
Kevin Hart
Michael Scott (Steve Carrell on The Office)
Robin Williams
Red Skelton
Jonathan Winters
Buddy Hackett
Richard Pryor
Groucho Marx
Redd Foxx
Steven Wright
Bob Newhart
Rodney Dangerfield
Louis CK

Probably the best standup comic in the last 30 years.

I'm kind of a connoisseur of stand up and I have to admit Jerrod Carmichael flew under my radar. I just checked out his special from the comedy store, and he's pretty damn good. Somewhat subtle and subdued so it probably would over the head of people that prefer broader comedic styles. He also doesn't jump into the generic stereotypical "black comedian" stuff.
It continues to crack me up that when a forum topic says to pick the best, your favorite, or to make a choice, most people make a list......favorite means one, not 6
Jim Davison, seen him many times and never fails to make the audience laugh.
