I appreciate stories that are actually stories - the ones that take time to build characters you care about, explore their motivations, and develop a plot that carries them towards towards the final climax (yes, pun intended). All of this generally requires page space to accomplish. Who on Lush can you count on to reliably hold your attention for 5000 words or more? Who handles the story aspect as well as they handle describing the steamy sex scenes?

Don't believe everything that you read.

Jaymal

He nails the story and sex almost all of the time. I pause for some of his 5K plus works and come back to it later, but he stands a better chance than most to keep me for an extended period of time.

GrushaVashnadze

Same sentiments as Jaymal.

For those above writers, the fact the sex will be written to my taste too helps a lot in me sticking around. I say this because this site has a ton of writers who do the story aspect well, but the sex may not tick my boxes per se.

Island Getaway Comp(2nd place): Fucked In The Head

My last published story: Ends, Means And Bitter In-Betweens

As well as Jaymal that Carlton mentioned, I think Frank_Lee and browncoffee and tams_back_yay and Ensorceled and AmuseBouche and Liz all nail plot, character and incredible heat.

Plus I'm sure a bunch more authors I can't reliably recall after a can or two of cider.

Over one million views on my stories can't be wrong, so please dive in and browse my 167 stories:

* 34 Editor's Picks, 87 Recommended Reads.
* 18 competition podium places, 12 other times in the top ten.
* 30 collaborations.
* A whole heap of often filthy, tense, hot sex.

This reminds me that I keep procrastinating on Frank Lee's work, even though I have some of his pieces in my queue for quite a while now.

Even though he doesn't publish much anymore, I read one story from Buz in excess of 5K and when I finished, it didn't even feel that long. I think because his style is edgier than most(think HBO or Starz) which I quite like. When I read more of his long pieces, they'll probably hook me too.

I am very flattered to be included in this list. 😘

Most of my stories are single pieces, and I love to write something like this at 3 to 5,000 words. It is good to know they are appreciated by others - always, the cherry on the cake.

From memory (which is not great - apologies to those I have missed) I look up to Sprite, Mr. Wordsmith, Jen, Liz, Encorceled, and FirstBlush - God, they are write!

I have just finished a story in chapters of 3,000 words as a hard limit. Part experiment, part need for brevity on my part, and it is seven chapters (!) All are written at once as 21,000 words. In short, I have written a novel.

Fuck! It is very hard. I have spent six months trying to do this. People must have thought I had disappeared. It has kept me from writing micros, and I was badgered (very nicely) by Avidly to enter the Christmas comp while I was writing this. As for the BDSM competition - I wish.

Long-form writing has many advantages, and most take about a week or two to complete.

We write to taste life twice: in the moment and in retrospection - Anais Nin.

Would you like to read how I've tasted life? These are my stories.

Little Bird - A couple and their younger lover explore what it is to be submissive and dominant. A true story.

These Walls Talk - A young woman with intense sexual fantasies finds herself lodging in a house with an over-sexed couple.

Of Flames and Light - An artist resists the attentions of an enigmatic man who only wants to watch her sketch.

If you look up to me and I look up to you, does that create some infinite feedback loop that will ultimately destroy space and time as we know it? 🤔

Mon Dieu, what a thought. Dragging everyone into our world - what a place it would be. 😘
