Absolutely correct. I can only paraphrase thus: Man goes to friend's birthday bash, thirty seconds in, is pounced upon. Twenty-four hours later, the man emerges from a flat a few miles away and has fun poked at him for years by his friend over saying about ten words to her on her birthday and spending ten seconds in her company. Mind-boggling for me, but perhaps less so in a wider context, because only I am me.
