when i first read the question, i kind of went with 'magical genie', quit honestly (ok,a not too bright magical genie). that said, Ruthie brought up the subject of the practice of female genital mutliation which is a HUGE issue in some parts of the world and a valid point to make if that was where her thoughts, and yours, went. Do i think that was intended? no. do i think that it could be construed that way? obviously, it was.
