I was 17, and more secure and experienced than he was at 23. Technically he was my boss, but while he was salaried it was an unpaid volunteer position for me. I didn't get anything but experience, not even school credit. So it was a violation of organisational protocol for him-- because he had signed the employment agreement-- but not for me. He was sweet, a lost kind-hearted soul who in many ways contributed to who I am today. But the pressure he felt was just too much.
