How would you pick up a guy in a bar?

So we have all heard about these 'pickup artists' and the manipulator's way to get hooked up with a woman in a bar.

Now it might just be me but, the idea of negging a girl to get into her pants creeps me out to be honest. And I have enough friends with benefits round the country that I have never needed to try.

BUT! There seems to be a demand for these books and I don't see many people writing books on how to pick up girls that you do not consider to be street trash. And lets face it, if a woman has gone to a singles bar with the intention of getting laid it should really be possible for that to happen without the disrespect.

So ladies, what sort of approach did the guy use the last time you hooked up in a bar?

I'm easily annoyed and bored, so most guys get ignored if they don't entice me within just thirty seconds but there was this one guy, about six months ago who completely broke that habit - he was completely honest with me and didn't mess around. Most guys just make small talk and hope that my pants fall down at the end of the night (lol) but this guy just came up to me and said, "there's three things I want to share with you. First of all, you are so beautiful, amongst all these girls I can't stop looking at you. Secondly, I'm gonna buy you a drink in the hope that I can get you a little drunk so I don't have to tell you what the third thing is, which by the way involves us sharing a little space." I was SO turned on and actually ended up being his girlfriend for a while (until he decided he was gay).
